Greetings all, I've had my FZJ80 for a year and have grown really fond of it so I'm starting slowly to baseline it. I'm the 3rd owner, it's been garaged all it's life and is in really good condition, although the PO rattle canned one of the rear fenders. It gives me an excuse to rhino line the fenders and bumpers anyway. This is a great forum that I would like to be a part of, there's just so much positive energy going on in the landcruiser community. Thank you and hello all!

- 1997 Collector's Edition, unlocked
- 212 K
- Only mod is new Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs and the PHH workaround kit. Slee 2" kit sitting in my garage, will post 'after' pics.
- Used for ferrying kids and bushwacking the high desert of SE Idaho (Boise)

The color is actually Buckskin Beige- from Van Sickle Paint. It's pretty much Rustoleum, it's implement paint from the farm and ranch store. I was trying to buy Rustoleum "Sand", but couldn't find it. I'm actually much happier with this color, it is much closer to what I wanted.

That's a great candidate for the home paint job. Mine (just above) looked worse that yours, now ($75 later), it's.... better. Well worth the weekend.

how did you paint yours? Did you just buy paint at the store and go for it? What'd you use to paint it with? I'd really love to paint it and yours looks pretty sweet!

Currently baselining her. My biggest plans are headed towards the Overland route. Possibly a small lift but with all of the armor and Overland goodies I want I may need to go taller.

Yeah, I basically bought the paint and went at it. I removed the flares and roof rack, filled all the little holes, sanded the whole truck with 80 and 120 grit on the DA sander, washed then wiped it all with alcohol, and then rolled it on. There's a bunch of Youtube videos on how to do it. It was a project with a friends son who is a bit special needs. We had a fun weekend working on it.
It is definitely a 15 foot paint job. (maybe 10). There are some runs and such, but overall it is fine. FAR better than the multiple coats of flat black spray paint the previous owner applied. Luckily, he never washed it first, so a power washer and some sanding took all that off.

If I would do it again, I'd get a Harbor Freight spray gun and shoot it, but for the time and effort involved, I'm happy.
