Nice 80! What kind of basket/rack do you have? Is it attached to the OEM cross bars?
Thank ya Sir!!

The roof rack is a "cheapy" poser set up manufactured by Rage Powersports....and yeah, its mounted to the OEM rack. Since I'm just using for overflow light camping gear it works fine but there are way too many restrictions (weight wise) with this set up.

Ultimately wanna get the ARB rack and roof top tent set up but am restricted due to budget for the time being. :(

Thanks again for the kind words...as I thought the change in profile was well worth it (if you didn't already, check the original post/pic as its quite a difference).

First Post

I'm so pumped -I just got my 80 tonight! I have been reading MUD for about a year now and you guys have helped me get ready for the cruiser! I can't tell you how excited I am. I replaced a '97 pathfinder with a '97 cruiser, and I'm so ready for a solid front axle. I'm pretty much a weekend warrior at best (4 boys six and under and a wife at home to take care of), but I plan on showing them the ways.:steer: It's pretty much stock right now with a rack on top and 2 sets of piaa lights (not hooked up but mounted anyways). So let my first post be one of gratitude for the YEARS of knowledge you all bring

Welcome to the madness Spears!

Post up a pic when you get a chance. Good to see more people from TN on here!

She wasn't mad when I brought the blue one above home 2 weeks ago - I wonder if she will notice this one in the driveway when she gets home from work today?

This is my 80 , I got it bout 2 years ago , a guy had listed it as wrecked and it was cheap enough to check out . After looking at it and getting the story of what happend I felt the damages were cosmetic at most ,and the interior was very nice and he had the carfax with nothig but toyota sevice , so i took it home and after a bumper , hood, grill, lights ...and here it is . I just put 285/75/16 Nitto Terra Grapplers on it today but no pis yet .

Hey everyone! I just bought her yesterday, and I'm jazzed! I had a 2wd '02 Tundra for over 5 years and it was one of the best vehicles I've ever had. My most recent 4wd was a '95 Range Rover Classic. My British lass was quirky and expensive, but I love her none the less. Unfortunately, she gave her life to save mine, and my son's, a week ago when a van crossed in front of us, against the light, on a major highway (55 mph). Decided to return to Toyota reliability, and also get one of the best expedition 4x4 ever made!

Year - 1997
Owner - Randy
Name - Don't have one yet. My off-the-top-of-my-head silly name is TLC-TCB! (Toyota Land Crusier - Taking Care of Business!)
miles - 184k
mods - Son and I removed the running boards and back mud flaps this evening (too dark for good photo). Still to come: 285/75R16s; spare tire ANYWHERE else than under the tail.
Use - Daily driver and weekend warrior (camping and trail riding in N. Georgia).

Seriously thinking of naming it "El Guapo" (the handsome) after the bad guy in the movie The Three Amigos. Plus, it's just so good looking. :p

I am happy to announce I am no longer just a stalker on here but am now an official FZJ80 owner. I, just a few hours ago, purchased a '97 80 White with 178000miles, ARB lockers, ARB front bumper, ARB roof rack, OME 2.5 inch lift, center diff switch, off road lights, and 33 inch BFG KMs. It needs attention to a few things. Over all seems to be a great start to my new to me rig. I have been on here for around three years now. I have logged countless hours on MUD. Thanks to all who contribute to my obsession. More pictures to follow.
