On a different note...

I've been looking into doing the Medeco lock face and bezel in black. I did a test using the same powder coat I use and it came out ok. Had to mask the hell out of it though. I can order black from Medeco but they are special order at 4-5 weeks. The price just adds a couple of bucks. Just thinking out loud because having something shiny attracts attention. Here is the Medeco black and then my powder coat black. View attachment 1160664View attachment 1160665

I think you should go with black if you have future orders but wouldn't bother powder coating what you have on hand now.

Well right now I have enough locks for only about 5 more boxes. I have yet to do the LX, 60, 62 and 100Series LockBoxes so I will be ordering another $4/5k worth of locks. I'm leaning towards back though.

On another side note I now have new decals. UV stable, weeded and transfer tapped. My old decals were digital print and my first issue. I didn't like them but it fit the budget. These are mo betta.

Your order went out minus the LockingLid, same as everyone else.

I got it and will echo what everyone else said in regard to unbelievable attention to detail in packing. I didn't come anywhere close to putting everything right back in the boxes.

My only complaint is there is not a discrete packaging option like when ordering adult items or overseas pharmacy stuff. Wife just looks at the package and rolls her eyes when she realizes it is for the 80.

That gave me a good laugh but you did raise a good point.......I can drop off all my Amazon boxes to Joey if some of you do request more discreet packaging. Plain boxes might also raise suspicion.

Amazon boxes would be perfect.

Will it be a red box with snow flakes?

Its funny you should ask because my wife and I were just joking about this and she said the same thing :P

But yeah, I am going to have a neighborhood kid wrapping these orders so she can make a few bucks. I've been getting a few PMs about it and since my shopping cart offers the option for gift wrapping I figured why not. Expect a spammy email to come out about it :flipoff2:

Ha ha ha! Thats why this was a business purchase, chalked up to vehicle maintenance for me. Then when it arrived, I was like "oh yeah, finally got here... Ordered in June.... Secures the gubs in the truck for trips..." still got the eye roll, but with a softened effect that lacked the utter annoyance.

BTW, that was not a jab. It was a deferred expense.

I NEED the nitpicking!!! Its what helps me make a better product :flipoff2:

I will keep searching for 5" felt. In the meantime I will be adding a second layer to all future orders. In the meantime, meantime, for those that would like a run of the thinner felt to cover the top section please let me know and I will send you out a roll F.O.C. But you have to let me know :flipoff2:

I'll play. I'd like to see the mounting holes for the screws that mount the Lockbox have a countersink so they mount flush and the bottom of the box is completely smooth.

That's what the original design was. Not only that but to eliminate the need for the spacer bushing. That was the $$$ die I had to pay for and then not be able to use. For future boxes I will indeed use countersunk socket head hardware.

That was the ONLY suggestion I would have had too, but really did feel like nit picking. Heck, mine's from the original production run, so it will be worth SOOO much more one day!

For the fence sitters, or those that forgot, I still have plenty of the Mini (2.5" tall) and the Scout (5" tall) LockBoxes in stock and need good homes :P

The LX version I pick up the proto on Friday.
