Got things unpacked...box is much heavier than expected :clap: Nice end product @NLXTACY .

The bike rack lock is no longer the weak link in the chain, nice chunk of metal, thanks again!

Need to relocated the inverter to below the console and extend its wires now, but that's a project for another day.

Any updates on when the remainder of the orders will ship?
 
Got mine also. Installed in about 10 minutes. Great product, definitely worth the wait!
 
Received my Scout, not installed yet. Thought the group at large might be interested how it fits a full size. This is a Springfield full size 4.5 XDM 40 with a Streamlight. Would normally never have the light attached in the car, but wanted to see if it fit. The Mini would have only fit my subcom.

Flank, this is making me think that perhaps I need to do a double layer of the felt so that it sits higher up the sides. I tried finding 5" felt, of the same thickness and with the same adhesive backing, but haven't had any luck. What are your thoughts? I could also send out a run of the thinner felt so that there is at least something? I dunno, seeing your handgun in there like that is making me sad. I don't like metal on metal action :(
 
On a different note...

I've been looking into doing the Medeco lock face and bezel in black. I did a test using the same powder coat I use and it came out ok. Had to mask the hell out of it though. I can order black from Medeco but they are special order at 4-5 weeks. The price just adds a couple of bucks. Just thinking out loud because having something shiny attracts attention. Here is the Medeco black and then my powder coat black.

It is Metal on Metal and I agree, but did not want to nitpick your excellent work. IMHO, the whole interior needs to be padded, and I am planning on adding a top row myself.
 
Also...

Because of how many locks I've been purchasing, I was contacted by Medeco about some marketing options. Seems for a few hundred bucks they can make a die to add an emboss of the Wits' End logo to their keys. :hhmm:

I NEED the nitpicking!!! Its what helps me make a better product :flipoff2:

I will keep searching for 5" felt. In the meantime I will be adding a second layer to all future orders. In the meantime, meantime, for those that would like a run of the thinner felt to cover the top section please let me know and I will send you out a roll F.O.C. But you have to let me know :flipoff2:

So unfortunately I don't have a solid date on these yet. I've been experimenting and not with great success. I'm trying not to butcher things do it doesn't look like ass.

In a nut shell: when I changed over the lock die to the lock basket, I did that for both locks. On the LockBox it was fine because the cam was perfectly straight. I did not consider that the LockingLid for the FEM had an almost 1" drop. This means that the 90* swing to move the cam into locking position catches the edge of the lock basket. Doh!!!!

I'm still working on an elegant fix but this unplanned issue is weaving into the time for the new stuff, which sucks. Still working on it though.
