Did you know that it's rare to find the Active Vacation package still installed on any 80s in Japan. These 80s were registered as camping vehicles which had cheap vehicle tax but about 10 years or so ago the government raised the tax so high that owners were forced to ditch the package and re-register their vehicles as commercial trucks which retained lower taxes. My 80 included..

Did you know that if your carpets are wet after it rains or you use the carwash, it is most likely due to clogged sunroof drains. They can be fixed by snaking the drain(weed Wacker string etc) or blowing compressed air into the line or hooking up a wetvac.

There are also drain holes in the pinch welds that need to be cleaned out... get up under there and look. They become clogged very easily after a day of mudding. Just use some thick trimmer line.

The drain/fill plugs on the diffs and T-case are 24mm. Not a trail

Spent an hour going through search threads on brakes and if the best upgrade option is to use 100 series pads in my '93 80 series then I'm a bit let down. I did find a lot on the issues others have had in resolving bad breaks (mine are horrible...soft and the front grab and stumble when at the end of a full stop). I am putting together a parts list and looking for options to convert the rear to disk as one of the coming projects. No way I can consider lift/tires until breaks work properly. Good thing I have until October to get all these things worked out.

You already have the larger brakes. My FJ80 with the 3FE had smaller brakes than the 1993+ models.
Yes, the only real easy upgrade you have is the 100 Series pads.

Also, the easiest way to convert to rear disc brakes is to swap the whole axle assembly.

No red switch, no part number, no nuttin. The part number we did find was for a red switch all right but it fits in the vertical orientation, so the little triangle emblem is rotated 90 degrees. It works, but it doesn't look right. Still no part number for the red horizontal switch we need for our 80's.

A fella could get discouraged...

Thanks for the input...was hoping I was not missing something. As always with a new forum I start down the rabbit hole and suddenly...squirrel...and I learn something I did not expect and totally unrelated then...squirrel...2 hours later and hundreds of unrelated threads I wonder what I was looking for in the first place. That's the tumbler fan thing. Not the radiator fan. Correct?!

So, does the 93-97 battery tray work as a second tray on the 91-92?

Yes and Yes. The fan is removed permanently and you have to trim the bracket that holds the VSVs a little. You can use the bolts from the fan assembly to mount the battery tray. Works great and no issues from removing the fan.

Did you know the 80 series, at least 93+ has two engine mounting points on the right frame rail? One for the gasser and one for the diesel.

Did you know 12mm m8x1.25 flange nuts are used all over the truck with slightly differing flange dimensions? They're hard to find if you lose them and cost a little more $1 each through Onur. Don't f*€king lose them!!!

Also they're easy to round

Did you know if you lose a caliper bolt you can use a seatbelt anchor bolt to replace it and get you home ?

Could include symptom too? Goes foward and one wheel clunks and locks up. Backs up fine

Damn - where was this last year! I used an ARB bumper to frame rail bolt to limp home.
