Toyota only makes this in red and white. Doesn’t matter what color you buy, those are the only two colors available for the tailgate sticker.

So sticking with the theme on the Cruiser we had these made in black.

I think I am going to go log some break in miles this weekend. Friggin powder coater is taking forever on the rear bumper but the Cruiser is ready regardless to log some miles.

I brought it home tonight and this is the first “walk around” video. Don’t judge it to much, it’s not finished and I will do proper walk around videos when it is.

Alrighty, did about a 175 mile drive today through the mountains. It’s just the kind of driving the Cruiser needs for break in. Up and down the mountains with 5,000ft of elevation gain, multiple passes and climbs with a good load on the engine, 40-60mph Cruising.

At the top of one of the passes is this little dirt road up to a fire lookout, I drove up it a couple miles just to get off the highway and take a break, take some good pics too!

Someone in Florida will be driving a very cool truck. 👍

I didn’t take pics the last few days but after 250 miles between Chris & myself we decided to drop the seats down.

When we ordered the Scheel-Manns there was no (still is I am sure) DC 79 seat bases from Planted. They (Planted) do make a single cab 79 base which we have used in another 79 mashup build and they work fine. However, Toyota decided to make the floor pan and seat mounts different in the double cab! 🤦‍♂️

So Scheel-Mann USA did have a new (I think they said “prototype”) base for seats to double cab floor using OEM sliding rails. Ok, no worries we got that with the seats and gave it a try. It’s just way too tall and your ass is elevated from a normal driving position. We have dubbed them the “high chair” seats. 😐

In order to remedy this (the owner is 6ft3” btw) we used a set of Planted single cab bases and their sliders. We then customized the mounting configuration of them. We dropped them as low as we could, nearly an inch in front and 2 1/2” in the rear. Seating position is also much much better now, not to tall (seats are tall man btw, ie high back) and you don’t fell like someone should be spoon feeding your while you wear a bib! 😂

Pics tomorrow.

Cheers
