Made the block off plates for the EGR and for the fuel pump that I decided not to use.

For the past month, I have been working to get transmission parts. It has been very frustrating.... Finally got with Georg and he pointed me to Dave Stedman on the transmission parts and it appears they are NLA from Toyota,

33421-60110 Unfortunately, production of the requested part has been discontinued by the manufacturer and it is no longer available.

33032-60010 Unfortunately, production of the requested part has been discontinued by the manufacturer and it is no longer available.

So Cruiser Brothers is helping by sending emails to Terrain tamer to determine what parts we can get that will work. I went to the terrain tamer site and found a different part number for the countershaft. 33421-60122. Not sure why it is a different number. However, even if we get figured out what we need, Georg warned that it will be 4-6 weeks to get the part with the next order.....

So, I reached out to many to see about finding parts and the first person I texted was @AlbertoSD and he had a tranny sitting around he was willing to sell me. So, that is now getting shipped to KC, so we may have the engine tranny installed around Turkey day!

I will still order all the parts for this tranny rebuild for some future project. However, now time is not important.

Great to have a community like this!!!!

Wanted to drop off some pictures so I can get the sensors in the right holes....

I could not figure out how to take apart the shifter, so had to reach out to @AlbertoSD thanks. Just push down on the upper housing and rotated counterclockwise.

Then spend some time working on pulling the bed off. Frame looks great. Will be much easier to build the stainless steel exhaust with everything off.
Going to pull the 79 series bed out this weekend test fit.

and for those transmission gods out there... I have a question. The transmission I received from Alberto does not have a reverse switch. My old one appears to have one although it was never wired up. It also does not have reverse lights in the tail lights even... easy enough to add. Anyway, do I just pull out this bolt on the side the transmission (below the centering bolts) and replace with a switch?

If you are going to install a 79 bed on a 75 the bed is too long by about 4". If I was to do this again I would look at drilling out all the spot welds and then cutting off what you need and re-attach and spot weld. If you haven't done a search yet there are a few posts about this. I documented mine on my AK HJ-75 thread. There's off course different ways to shorten it.

Good to know. I helped @tornadoalleycruiser shorten his bed some years ago, so familiar with the drilling method.

How about mounting points? I need to go back through your thread.... I don't see much discussion on the mounting points for the bed, if they match up on the 75 series.

This truck is getting some well deserved love.

"deserved" not sure about that... Needed..... Yes.

Quick update on the engine, just sent the injectors out to get serviced to Chuck in Denver. Fuel Injector Specialists - Home - Wheat Ridge, CO He has done all my injectors over the years.

other than that, it is all back together, and ready to mate up with that transmission. Next up will be that painful progress of the wiring harness.

mounting points are the same. One thing I did notice that will not work without modifying, or being smarter than me, is the side steps from the 79 will not fit on a 75. I haven't spent much time yet on mine to see how to make the new ones fit.

side steps will NOT fit once it is shortened more than a few inches.. I have a new set of them if you or anyone else is interested.

I pulled out the reverse switch out of the old transmission and compared it to the barc k part and they are identical. $12 bucks and have reverse lights.

40 spotwelds and approx 4 little stitch welds.. yes i did count as i went.

time to buy another spot weld drill bit.

I purchased a bunch just for that job! Once the teeth broke, i swapped and moved on. I also found that a small pilot hole where the tip of the spring loaded spot weld bit goes worked wonders. The small pilot hole didn't need to go all the way thru but it assisted in keeping the spot weld bit from walking. My recommendation is tho purchase a bunch of tiny bits because they broke frequently and went flying. If you need to move the mount on the bottom that was a 54 more spot welds! Holler, I have experience, a drill and can travel..
