The winch will be lowered and go in between the frame rails vs sitting on top like now. I figure I can move it at least another inch back also.

Winchmount is done and the winch is sitting as low as possible , tucked away between the frame rails. I moved it about an inch further back and cut the frame rails back also. On the bottom of the winchplate I welded an extra plate to protect the radiator.
Later this week I should be able to put the 40’s under it.

Nicely Done. What is the verdict on the ORI's? I am considering them for my own build.

I like them a lot , got good flex when crawling and they behave pretty good on the road to even without swaybars , I am gonna put some swaybars on it in the future though.

Time for some maintenance and a good check before heading to the next wheeling trip with the 40’s.

Put both the 37 treps on the steel Toyota wheels and the raceline beadlocks with 40 treps on the scale and the new 40’s with the beadlocks are only 10 lb heavier , 132 vs 142 lb per wheel/tire combo.

Btw the 37’s and steel oem 16/8 wheels will be listed for sale soon , tread is like new but small chunks have disappeared while wheeling.

40 inch stickies are under it and it became 4 inch wider in total to 80 1/2 inch now.
Decided to add a few protection bars in the front for the fenders and winch also.

Killer look Joe. Wicked. Makes me want a 70 series. Like bad!

Roundup 2020got cancelled and postponed to November but a small group was already on the way so I headed out to Wolf Caves for a bit of wheeling with them.
The 73 did great and the new front approach angle is day and night different from the full face ARB bumper I had on it before

Quick update on this one , I decided to go to an automatic transmission but since I don't care for any of the older Toyota slush boxes I decided on a LS engine with a TH350 and the toyota T-case behind it so I pulled everything out , sold the 1HDT and bought a LS and a TH350.

Several months later and SCC and Roundup coming up soon I have a LS sitting in the shop but my TH350 is waiting on parts for a complete build . After having sold all my good engines and really want to go wheeling these 2 events I decided to swap a parts 1HZ in it that is laying outside my shop for the past 2 years because it had a very bad loud knock in it.I replaced the BEB's in it and number 1 had a small chip but number 6 was completely effed up !

After replacing the BEB's I installed it with the R151 back behind it and fired it up ........it ran perfect for around 27 seconds and then the knock was back , if it lasts these 2 wheeling trips I will be a happy camper and it made me appreciate again the fact that this crawler is made entirely out of toyota parts and I will probably swap a healthy 1HZ or 1HDT in it later again and use the ls/th350 combo in something else.......I am loading a dirtbike on the trailer as a back up plan in case some internal engine parts find their way to the outside ;)

Although I like V8 power and a automatic, I really like the fact that it's all Toyota. Also the 80 axles mite be short lived with 40" stickies and LS power. JMHO
This Reg has been one of my favorite Crawler builds. SWEET!!!!
