Bonus points for rear 1/2 doors, lockers and FF axles. If it also has both tops in a+ shape, you can pick a daughter. They are married, don't appreciate me, seldom listen, and will object, but proven breeders and I sold them once, so I can do it again. I'm guessing their owners will gleefully sign the back of the title at this point. Model years of daughters are 1987 and 1994.

Other mods, well, depends on if they are nice mods or janky.

So, to recap, a Colombian unit with fresh paint over a 5 gallon bucket of spackle, a 500k engine re-bored with a hand drill and decked with 220grit over a 12" 2x4, an frp top repaired with epoxy, and a Venezuelan dana'ish 60 frankenaxle for 40g isn't bringing me joy or you an angry woman in shackles. Save us both time, and them the trauma.

You know how sellers always "know what they have"? Well, I believe you. You know what you have. So don't respond if you have that.

PS. Dates miles and colors chosen because the Ad made me do it to post.

Get @wngrog to import you one and give it the Tilda Bogue treatment. He's got his own top quality wimenz, though, so daughters isn't going to do much to entice him.

This a Toyota forum. It's chalked full of Incels. Lets see what I can barter up, before we get into top dollar.

I can’t get 73s. Rare as hens teeth in Saudi. Found one in Yemen but it’s a bit whipped.

Your website in your sig line doesn't have any cars, but now I want lunch it's only 9:30, and I have two meetings. Thanks.

The want ad is fishing for the ideal candidate for job. Nowadays, one expects to work their way down from there.

Your wish is my command. This is my personal 73 that I was planning to sell this summer. Feel free to PM me.

Year: 1991
Model: 73 series | Left Hand Drive
Location: Birmingham AL
Mileage: 310000 kilometers
Color: Tan

This is a 1991 73 series from The Netherlands. It was imported to the US many moons ago and then painted and cleaned up and brought to Alabama. I have registration papers going back over a decade from the Netherlands. This is a true Left Hand Drive. 1HZ mated to an H55 transmission. Top comes off fine although you probably wouldn't want to do it regularly. This is a solid off road vehicle and unlike the Starbucks pretty boys this one has gone off road and proven itself regularly. Abused? No. Ridden well? Yes. It is mechanically solid but does have a few stripes and dings. If you are looking for something pristine and car show worthy you may need some body work to get there. If you are looking for turnkey offroading built properly you are at the right spot. Like life, the price may be negotiable but I'm not interested in trades. Too many toys at this point in my life.

Basics

  • 4.2L 1HZ rebuilt at 300,000km by Boozer Built of Birmingham Alabama,
  • H55 five speed manual gearbox. Inspected but honestly the only thing we've not touched as it didn't need anything.
  • Front end completely rebuilt including SA spindle outward.
  • Brand new hubs.
  • Full Floating Solid Axles.
  • Front and rear brakes new.
  • LockRight front and rear mechanical lockers installed.
    • We pulled the actuator cable from the 4WD Low. So now you have 2WD high, 2WD low (amazing) and if you need it 4WD is engaged via the vacuum actuated button on the dash. I can explain better in person. It's a good thing I promise.
  • 2 inch Dobinsons medium lift.
  • LT285/75R16 Nitto Trail Grappler MTs with less than 5k kms on them.
  • 24 volt engine bay rewired and 12 volt panel installed for accessories.
  • Cruise control (Yup. We put this in and it's great cruising at 65-70mph)
  • Custom front bumper.
  • Custom rear bumper.
  • N4 off road front plate.
  • Custom sliders.
  • Safari Snorkel.
  • Warn xeon 10k.
  • Custom modular roll cage that can be removed.
  • Custom modular drawer system in the back.
  • Custom woodwork between the seats.
  • AM/FM/XM/etc.
  • Wouxan GMRS radio built in.
  • Aftermarket mechanical gauges that you can trust.
  • Roof Rack.
  • Strong sticker game on the FHP topper.
  • I have the half doors as well but they need restoration. Only the shells.

The Good

  1. Everything.
  2. It's a darn tank. Never say never but I have never been stuck in it. It will pretty much climb anything.
  3. It's a looker. It's rare that I go out and don't get folks asking about it. Feels good.
  4. It still has potential to become a variety of things or you can just take it as is and be happy.

The Bad
Not much!

  1. Factory fuel gauge is off. I have to watch my trip meter and fill up around 400kms. Should go to 500kms but I don't push it.
  2. Aftermarket gauges are a bit sloppy in how they are mounted and they are on my to do list but that's a long list with multiple projects.

Jump in the waters nice!!

The Scheel-Mann seats are not included. I've swapped them out for some Ricaro knock offs that are better for wheeling just not as sexy.

I see the nice cage and boxes. I'm 6'4".... Ummm... more 6'3" nowadays after 50 odd years of gravity, mmm... does that limit the seat rails? I assume those are not the scheelmann XL's.

6'3" is a little different from my 5'8". I know a 6'0 rides fine. I have a buddy who is in your range and I could get him to give you some feedback if needed. I'd definitely want you to sit and know your knee isn't in your shoulder.

It's mostly the h55f in 1-2 when the wheel pushes my knee into it. It does that on my 60 and I've never gotten around to heating and bending it.

Are you selling, or is this just being flamboyant?
Just Encouragement, no flamboyance!

I was reluctant for many years, finally found one that checked the boxes and I Love the 73, however everything has a price I suppose! ;)

Funny, there have been 3 people comment on one errand about the truck today, I got out and looked to make sure my teenage sons hadn’t placed a bumper sticker or some other ridiculousness on the back that would solicit a response!

So I have a 6'7" buddy that's been in it and has driven in it and he says that "It's not as bad as an FJ45" and that he's ok. I think I'd still like you to verify that.

I'm 6-3 and fit better in my HZJ73 than I do in my wife's Sequoia!

Good luck on your hunt. My advice: buy yourself a plane ticket to Madrid and take the rail around France, Spain, and Italy until you find the right one and ship it to yourself. You'll be money ahead. That's how I got my HDJ80.
