Started taking the engine apart to clean and replace gaskets, etc. Messy job. Since it came from Europe with EGR the intake has 1/2” of black tar glued to the inner walls. This will be fun.

Kermit belongs to my daughter and lives in Flagstaff. She built it frame off when was 16 so she has a car to drive to school. 2 years ago we put a 1HDT/H55 in it. She is 35 and a mom of one year old.In the garage is Dijon. 13Bt/h55. It was brought to the US by a couple of hippies from Canada that went to UC Berkeley in 1979. Their granddaughter drove it and blew the B engine. I bought it for $1K and rebuilt it.
The first landcruiser I actually did a frame off was my son's a tan 1978 FJ40 (2F/H42). It was mint when finished 20 years ago, and he totally neglected it. It sits in a garage in OR.

Christmas came early...
They changed the intake to 3.5" (stock is 3") so had to get also the 90deg hose. 3 Turbos for 2 other friends. 10% discount...

Had to deal with more electrical. Dash light were not working. At the end since I don't have the daylight lights module had to jump two more pins. I installed the pillar gages and got the sheet metal for the 32 gallon water tank. It is going to Marti, my TIG welder. I did get a welder so I'm going to start practicing TIG.

So fanatically been sound proofing the cab. Latest on the doors and interior sides slicking this product that was highly recommended by a friend.

Today I got from my friend Marti the welder the 32 gallon water tank that will sit under the car instead of the spare. There is a loop of 1/2" stainless pipe inside to allow 190F hot coolant from the diesel hearer in freezing weather to protect the tank. The hot water has a water-to-water heat exchanger and the cab a water-to-air.
Sorry if I forgot, but where is the fuel tank going? Everything looks very well thought out.
