68 ohm resistor to replace stereo on NAV equipped LC and LX (4 Viewers)

I'm not the first to do this, pucker5 posted a few days ago without pics. There was talk about it before, I just didn't try it. But I did today.

This comes from prius people and I found some other info from avalon forums also.
If you put a 68 ohm .5 watt resistor on the C plug pins 9 and 10, (blue and pink on 2006) everything works as it should and you can take the stereo out and put whatever you want in that slot.

The middle plug, C, has the tx wires, that's where the resistor goes. Blue and pink wires.
the other two plugs can stay unplugged. (A and B)

Obviously there are some conditions. The power antenna won't work. Put a fixed tundra antenna in. The rear seat audio won't work, delete it and put some UBS chargers in there. Steering wheel buttons won't work, Get the PAC universal for your aftermarket deck so they do. CD changer doesn't work also. That's it far as I know.

Personally I have a kenwood media shallow mount deck, a JL and a RF amp to two sets of speakers in the doors and a 10" punch sub in the back in it's own box.
I do not use the stock SUB wiring, sub box, or the HU stock wiring to the speakers at that connection.
I do use the stock speaker wires where they come out of the stock amp under the pass seat.
My stuff is wired as if it was a fresh install except using the speaker wiring at the output of the stock amp.

The point is that you can delete the OEM deck and all climate controls work the way they should.
I wish I had a female socket so I wouldn't have to cut the harness, but I did anyway and everything is fine.

I only use the display for back up cam. It never comes on except when in reverse. I put the climate screen on and took a pic so you guys could see. Everything works fine. I tested and measured before I cut the harness.

I'm going to alter the stock silver face to accept a ISO DIN HU maybe tomorrow.

Yes the bottom buttons work. defrost, rear AC etc.

I order a Pioneer MVH-1400NEX From Proffits and the 3d printer part. They also talked about the work around with the 68 ohm .5 watt resistor. And I got everything out and will post the picture of 3d printer with the pioneer in it. But with these three connections coming out of the back I'm confused on just hooking it up in general as I'm novice to say the least. The 2 black cords came out of the Factory Toyo radio and only one will fit in the new stereo. Where does that smaller one go to? I did put a scratch in the screen as one of my pics you can see the metal piece at the top that you will have to remove. I didn't at first and that how I got it when trying to put it in from the rear. But it just pulls off easily. I'm think I labeled the connections right.. My question as well is B is that the internal factory amp. He told me to hook up the RCA cables from the pioneer to the factory amp. Lastly, the last pic I uploaded is the wires that are hooked up to the pioneer, which plug am I looking for to match up these wires to is it the A. Much help appreciated as I apologize in advance for not knowing a whole lot..

Here's the other pic of my wiring harness out of the Pioneer

I don't even need it but I want one of those 3d printed part.
Is that on a website somewhere?
There are two antennas, search dual antenna, motorola, adapter.
Also.
Search for the stereo connector pin out.
A single DIN stereo would be way easier space wise.
I'll post the ABC connector pics.

Thanks for the pics and help.. I order everything though here Proffitt's Resurrection Land Cruisers – We exist to preserve and enhance the legendary Land Cruiser in a way that nobody else can. - https://www.resurrectionlandcruisers.com/. Go on there and email them 3d part like the 2003 they did and its on their YouTube channel. Now I went home at lunch just to see if I could by pass the factory amp. I unplugged everything and put the resistor in the two pin spots but when I cranked it up the screen came on for maybe 15 secs or so but then went out. I'm assuming that I didn't have a good connection to the resistor? I just don't want to cut wires at this point. I went and plugged everything back up to the original radio just to make sure everything was working correctly. And Praise the lord it was..

Wooowww I never knew someone made that part. Details please. Would be nice for my 06 but I have parts to non-nav it too. But I need one regardless.

Order the metra harnesses. you will get rca outs to use. and antenna and power/ground and ignition. yada yada

Metra 70-8113

here's the YouTube video someone showed me to get the idea to do this. They sold me the radio and 3d part as well. Go to their website and email them for that part. I would refer to the video.. Right now trying to find a dual ant adapter.. Any help with that? And I think I do have the Metro 70-8113.. I'll double check. It's for sure a work in process as I'm trying to learn

that's kind of a big deal. Minimal cost instead of 2k on non nav parts.
All the people that email me should go this route.

I've emailed him and asked some questions. Hopefully he replies back or makes an account and posts.

Game changer. wish they could have achieved some angle on that. Would look goofy but it's tough having car play that low. looks years better than my chunk of wood

I asked him about a single DIN. Then a flip out screen like pioneer with a tilt isn't too bad. Agree though, angle is bad= need remote control.

He got back to me today.
My reply was asking him to make a single DIN opening copy of the stock stereo faceplate as the easiest and cheapest solution, Second is the double DIN lower plastic that conforms to the circuit board and buttons.
Neither one of these items is going to be cheap. But nowhere near the headache of non nav parts and wiring.
Of course anyone is welcome to contact them. The person that emailed me is Jani.

They have the part listed on the site now. Going to have to start planning my stereo system upgrade...

How, factory tape player is 1 din , 1.5 max unless that chassis is removed

I don't know if I like that. Still want a single din opening that fits in the hole when you take the stereo out.
I gave him a recipe to sell a ton of those. Not the double and not at 250.

@jflone Ask to see the backside of it first.

I'm not planning to purchase super soon but sent them a message nevertheless asking for more pictures.

I guess my only issue with a single din and then pop up screen is that it seems it would get in the way of the climate control buttons. I'd be annoyed if I had to push the screen in every time I wanted to adjust the temp

Jerry,
I am currently trying to replace my deck in my 2005 LC. The stereo shop that put in the amps and sub and speakers is saying they dont know a way to install a deck, Is there a step by step write anywhere or is this it for a single or double DIN? I would be glad to pay for one if its available
