Well thats all good info for a stock 68 tank but the tank in op's last pic is not ? The Parker fitting number is good to have, thank you.
Can anyone confirm if that Parker fitting # will fit a stock, underseat, fj40 tank ? and I guess whatever tank is in that last pic.

I purchased this replica tank from CCOT ( sorry don’t remember part number)
The Parker fitting fit perfectly. CCOT also sells a non acorn design.

That is not for a 68 fj40, is that the under body tank from later model years ?

my tank sits inside my 68. The tank I believe is from the 70’s I purchased from CCOT.

The CCOT fuel connector fits multiple year models as listed below. The two differences from the Parker is: The Parker is an acorn type and it has a 5/16 barb. The CCOT is one piece and 1/4 inch barb I believe used in OEM applications. Both Parker and CCOT will fit OEM tank.

I hope this helps

Happy Turkey day👍

Sorry I don’t know if the Parker fitting will work on earlier model tanks. The Parker will fit on 68-72 models.

I would definitely call Cool Cruisers of Texas

They are very knowledgeable about earlier models. I assume the threads are the same size, but I don’t want to tell you something I’m not sure about.

The Parker has a 5/8 barb and I’m running a 3/8 fuel line…. It’s been running great for the Chevy 350👍

Any idea if these fit on a 1964 gas tank? I am about to run all new fuel lines and want to swap out all the Toyota connections and just use barbs. Looks like the fuel pump and original filter housing is 1/8 BSPT, but not sure on the actual tank for the earlier years.

I’m not 100% if it’ll fit the earlier tank.

The early tank is also 13x1.5. I know because I buggered one and had to buy a die.

Hey! If you aren't going to use them, I'll take those old fittings.

I’ll need to find an option for the gas tank connection first. They don’t exist I don’t think and I don’t have a die kit to tap another. Ideally I’d use an elbow off the tank instead of straight, but will take whatever I can find.

I was able to source some clear fuel line that was an exact match. I figured out how to open up those weird ass fittings and was able to rebuild them. That is an option also. PNW 67 Patina Blue - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/pnw-67-patina-blue.1289865/page-12#post-14963585

I’ve thought about that as well, but I don’t have those weird fittings on the glass fuel filter housing…I have barbs.

CCOT said the one on their site would work for the earlier FJ40s (then why wouldn’t they have it listed on their site?)…$30 for a fitting, ouch. And then I’d have to go from 1/4” to 5/16” (8mm) as that is the barb size for the fuel filter housing and fuel pump. Fuel pump is getting rebuilt once the kit comes in…it is leaking somewhere, but the engine oil seems to be fine. Will change that just in case. Nothing can be an open/shut case.
