Sorry for the delay in getting these to y'all. Between monsoons down here in the south and the headache of redoing botched EVERYTHING on this beast, she is finally running a bit better. May have a good bit of questions for you fellas so all help will be appreciated.

This is the first time I have experienced AC Delco and Rochester anything on a cruiser. I am a stock purist; if its not Jap, dont want it on there....having said that, as I explained in a previous thread, SOR techs said this was a common upgrade that kids made back in the day did for more power...vacuum advance goodness.

Checked on a brand new distributor for this cat just for kicks....38 bucks....yep, 38...who knew? Well, anyway. ok, the skinny of things done to this little lady when purchased:
1.Clutch Assembly
2.Oil Relay (detached from the block which is neat)
3.Master Clutch
4.Master Brake
5.19 rattle can of black over the factory paint!!!!!!!!!!!DA@#...and by adding the pumkin colored wheels makes for a nice Halloween ensemble.
6.An oh-so-awesome welding job receiver hitch complete with sheet metal and plywood (which is a nice touch) screwed into the rear quarters.
7.And last but not least, fiberglass cathair over the kick plates for the absolute sole purpose of covering 16 pinholes.

These picts are of her when I bought her in the middle of nowhere GA. But for 900 bucks, couldnt resist.

OK just thought of a question after all of this banter - the amp meter on this guy works great...until I crank the motor, then it pegs out to the positive side. I cant check my amps on the battery/ alt beause my amp meter is a POS. All I know is the dial on the POS amo meter pegs to the right as it is running (gradual build up) so I assume the alt is working...but ran it for about 2 hours yesterday, and after shutting it off I had a pssssssss coming from the battery...too many amp? I do not have a regular on this guy so would that the issue?

Thanks,
Ben

Thanks fellas. Yeah, couldnt turn it down.

The carb is a rochester. This is my first F so not too familiar with the carb/dist setup back then, but SOR said it was a conversion for more power. Works pretty good though. Actually kind of impressed with the power being a 1b. Vacuum advance helps a ton too.

looking for some if you know of anyone who will ship them to AL. Found a few around but seems like everyone has something against UPS and FedEx.:bounce:

Hey, not bad at all...great deal...but you do have orange rims

So, with a clean slate to work with, the big question...what are your plans?

Thanks JohnnyC! I have pm'd that fellow and we will see what comes about from it.

Well Dean, you do have a keen since of smell. Yep, she goes back to stock. After I get her running like I want, then comes the body work. I will give you guys a play-by-play after I get the minor bells and whistles figured out...like this amp thing blowing my battery up.:meh:
