It happens when you least expect it. I remember that day we had already conquered the tough stuff, then I got lazy and felt invincible, that's when it happens. Smile, cause that's all you can do. Everybody on the trip wanted to take poser pics with the cruiser. We winched it back over, checked the fluids, drove it home to Colorado. After some make shift body work involving 2x4's and plexiglass, I drove it daily until I found another 60 to buy for $2000, back when they were cheap and plentiful.wow, I would not have a smile on my face...
There were so many moments were I felt like this could have happened.
I agree 100%. Last day on the Rubicon and I thought we were clear of any difficult trails after leaving Rubicon Springs. Then we met Cadillac Hill. The 62 climbed up and over everything except the entrance to Cadillac Hill. I have a video of me starting up and both front tires were off the ground. I tried several times and for the first time I had to use my winch. It happens when you least expect it. A high center of gravity will get you in trouble, but so will redheads.I cringe when I see heavy things on roof racks.
i'll take my chances with the redheads. much softer when you rollA high center of gravity will get you in trouble, but so will redheads.
One of the oldest known pictures of a 60 on the internet. LOL!
LOL I was there only a week or two before you, going the other way. In my 4runner. I was thinking, I wouldn't want to bring anything bigger than my 4runner through there. Sorry, not a 60 pic.
Hilarious!! You got in before the rains. Very cool. There was a rock slide on the entrance to the firstLOL I was there only a week or two before you, going the other way. In my 4runner. I was thinking, I wouldn't want to bring anything bigger than my 4runner through there. Sorry, not a 60 pic.

I’ve been up there for decades. That first creek you crossed was running high water when I went through. It was pushing over 3’ on two of the crossings, in fact pushed a P&G pipeline SXS downstream. We’ll never see it all, even if we double up! That’s the beauty of northern BC.When I saw that creek I had to drive up at the beginning coming in from the west side... I wasn't sure what I was getting into but the rest was just boulder crawling. That 4runner is super capable. Stock 2000 (minus the running boards) with rear locker, nothing stops it. Just a bit light duty on impacts which luckily I didn't have.
So much to explore in that area of BC. I could spend a whole summer just checking out all the dirt roads and lakes. Maybe someday in my 60...
