I haven’t done anything to mine, that said I will probably pull off the rack this winter and make sure I don’t have any rust under there. When I put it on my gutters were rust free so we shall see

The original gutter seal caulking wasnt very good to begin with and by now they are all cracking and crumbling. I think if you replace with self leveling sealer it will be much more resistant. It is pretty hard which will resist falling apart from the mounts, and will fill the groove better.
I use my JDM HJ61 as my daily work rig. Its an absolute work beast. My mobile shop, welding rig, and takes me all over the mountains of Northern California. Here are some pics. 12HT, H55, cable lockers, SOA, rusty as hell. Not a single dent.

Just bought my 60 about a month ago so just starting to go thru it. Today I wanted to drop the spare tire and think the spare is original and the tool kit under the seat has never been used. The tire has never been used and still has a blue paint stripe around the outside. The tools are in perfect shape and have Toyota stamped on them. I thought this was pretty cool.
