Just bought my 60 about a month ago so just starting to go thru it. Today I wanted to drop the spare tire and think the spare is original and the tool kit under the seat has never been used. The tire has never been used and still has a blue paint stripe around the outside. The tools are in perfect shape and have Toyota stamped on them. I thought this was pretty cool.View attachment 2812737View attachment 2812738View attachment 2812739View attachment 2812740

I had a bearing failure on my swing outs. The dumbass that installed them (me) didn't think it through. I don't know WTF I was thinking, but I lubed the bearings with lithium grease. Water got in and rusted it up. The other side didn't leak, but it needed cleaned and repacked too this time with high-temp wheel bearing grease. I drilled and tapped holes for grease zerks so I can pump a few squirts in when I grease the pins on the suspension. Added some paint to the rock scuffs on the bumper and it looks much better.

hey which bumper is that?

it's funny that I couldn't wait to delete the factory rack on my FZJ80, but how I'm really diggin' this rack that a 1980s dealer put on your 62!
Me too! It just screams the 1980s to me and I love that about the rack.
