I chatted with Michael at West coast cruisers. He says he is 95% sure the a343f was different in the 100 series to bolt up to the bellhousing that bolts to the 2uz. He said the a343f for the 100 series had more electronics on it as well and was a different animal than the 80 series a343f.

I will contact Rodney I believe his name is at wholesale transmissions in australia as Michael told me to get in touch with him. If anyone would know if the a750 has any chance of bolting up it would be him. He would also know about a standalone as he thinks they have one developed for the a750.

Here are some rough dimensions of the bellhousing bolt pattern, the height, from the transmission to the engine, is about 5.55 in. Anyone have an a343f from an 80 to check against?

Dimensions are in inches...

Wholesale Automatic Transmissions: Hi Trey its Rodney here from Wholesale Automatics, Early next year we will have a stand alone computer system available for the A750F that will suit the 1FZ but you will have to sort out the bell housing compatibility at your end. Kind Regards Rodney

Oh my.... That might be a game changer if it works.

I vote Ryan as the first guinea pig.

:)

Lemme translate that to English:

"G'day mate.

It'll never happen and you're on your own, quite franky, because there's no love for the 1FZ-FE here, and we can buy entire drivetrains for less than the cost of this standalone, much less a custom bell housing, again, all on an engine that we don't give two roo turds about.

See, we have every diesel option ever offered by Toyota in every Land Cruiser model ever built, but the newest V8 diesel offering is the chit, so even your holy grail HZs and HD-Ts are merely Dixie cup to me mates here in Oz.

Why would we invest a single AUD in ANY petrol engine?

BUT, in consolation for the craptastic Cruiser selection you're faced with in the States, along with that closet Muslim president, I'm gonna pull an erroneous date out of my arse and tell you that, sometime in the future, this product you want will be available, to keep you from diving into crock infested cricks to end your pain and suffering.

Cheers, mate!"

Lol good stuff here

Again they are not engineering anything. They use compushift, so it's really in compushift's hands.

Compushift is owned by HGM Automotive Electronics in Torrance CA. Again Wholesale automatics seems to skirt issues and talk around things, as I think their valve bodies are nothing more than shift kits.

Trey,
I’ve looked into it but I think the A750’s have too many solenoids to control to make an easy shift setup. I hope to research it a little more in the coming year, the demand for this has been three guys in the last two years but I expect it to increase as the used truck become less expensive and start to be used more for serious modifications.

I think compushift will be the best bet especially if they are doing B60 and A760, squeaky wheel gets the grease and I am sure there just aren't a lot of guys swapping those trans. Hate to say it but the other way to go is I know there are 2jz bellhousings to Chevy autos and adapters from Chevy autos to LC fulltime transmissions....
