I sold my built 80 to fund a 40 purchase. The 40 I bought cost more than budgeted, so I will be selling another 80 eventually. ;)

Don't worry about the 40 impacting the cost of the kit. I am just like the rest of the 'mud populace, grand desires and a limited budget.

I think you're going to have to sell more than 1 or 2 80's to fund a 40 build!

need this kit so bad right now :(

someone put a milkshake in my crankcase yesterday

Sorry to hear that :( I wish it was further along, but unfortunately it's going to be a while yet.

I've read this whole thread. Did I miss what your doing for fuel delivery?? Stock pump ? Supra pump ?

Planning on the Denso Supra Pump. It's sitting on the parts shelf already. It should be fine for a stock V8. I think the fuel line size will be the restriction if you really want to turn up the power though.

Selling the built '93 80 funded 70% of the 40 purchase. If I sell one of the clean low mileage(89k or 115k) 80s, I should have it covered and a little extra for a few mods. The good thing is the 40 is already pretty built(SOA, 1 tons, TBI V8, NV4500, etc) so I shouldn't have to dump too much more money into it.

LOL you know, and if you don't you soon will, the phrase "shouldn't have to dump too much more money into it" never applies to a 40, they're much like a boat other than they don't float!

Unfortunately no. Apparently building a 3600SF house with 2 other guys takes a lot more of your time than I thought. Add on to that trying to maintain a relationship while working 5 hours from home, planning a wedding, and trying to get a 40 ready for Moab means I haven't touched this project since before Christmas. :(

I hate that I jumped the gun on getting everyone excited about this, but this is also the reason that I was unwilling to take on volunteers for beta swaps. I won't release any product until I'm confident it is ready and I can support it customer service wise.

I appreciate your honesty, Arya.
Been there. Get that stuff done so you can get back to the more fun stuff!

Postpone your Moab trip so you can get the other projects finished up
. Moab will still be thee next year. Tell your sweetly that your doing it all just for her to win lots of brownie points!

x2!

You guys are funny. Honestly the house is 99% of the problem since we're having our wedding on the lawn in July. In other words, it HAS to be finished.

As for postponing Moab, if we don't go now, we probably won't go. It being my "bachelor party" is the only reason several of my friends with newborns are getting a hall pass from their wives :D

So your wheeling buds are more operant than your wife and your house? Good luck with that!

Jus' teasin! I been married to the same sweetly for over 40 years. Sometimes they forgives ya, and sometimes ya gotta do it their way!?!
