Thank you good to know. I hope you can get this project back up and running as this is something I will be doing in the not so fare future. I have a 91 and the only thin that is different is the chassis post I believe.

6l80e 4wd or 2wd doesn't matter

Any issues with using the split case and front drive shaft clearance on the trans pan? Very very close with this combo and a 4L60e. So close a DC won't fit. I prefer the split case myself.

Cheers

The 6l80e is more narrow compared to the 4l60e in respect to the trans pan

A while back I asked a friend of mine with access to the files to do an overlay between the 4L60 and 6L80. The picture below is looking up from below the 2 transmissions(the t-case in the picture is a driver's drop t-case). You can see in the picture that the 6L80 pan is more or less symmetrical, particularly in comparison to the 4L60 pan. I think it might even afford more room on the passenger side than on the driver's side. Particularly when noting that the shifter mechanism is on the driver's side.

Unfortunately no. I'm afraid that progress will be slow or even nonexistent until summer.

I bought a 40 that's arriving next weekend. Gotta get that trail ready for my bachelor party trip to Moab in June.

That's a party!

I might have ya beat, got married at the summit of trail #15 at Harlan during the 2008 TTORA take over. The trail teams were even there. 8/8/08

Have a great time in Moab :)

You're going to drive a trail ready 40 from MD to MOAB?!

That's like trying to ride a mad bucking bull for 60 seconds and expecting your ass not to hurt!

As much as that would probably make an awesome story to tell my grandkids one day, I will be towing the 40 to Moab. ;)

Gonna be a bunch of buddies with 4 rigs, a Teryx4 and 2 KTMs. Should make for an awesome week.

wow u bought a 40 and getting it ready for trail for a bacholar party dayum yo loaded son
i guess you gonna add the cost to this conversion kit jk lol
i was saving ma money for this , so i guess i have to put little extra money aside

I sold my built 80 to fund a 40 purchase. The 40 I bought cost more than budgeted, so I will be selling another 80 eventually. ;)

Don't worry about the 40 impacting the cost of the kit. I am just like the rest of the 'mud populace, grand desires and a limited budget.

Nah, I'm just messing around. She is a super nice lady and my closest friend.

Now back to your regularly scheduled program....
