No it's "purdy" for sure. I've seen him on Lakeland a few times. It might fetch that price, but with 100k and a few things, like the hood hooks, jeesh.

just thought it was interesting as we don't get many local like that. If it sells for that 2buckets needs to get his out there. (disclaimer I've been gone 10 months so it could be sold by now and I'd have no clue).

Shell is straight, has a couple of bends along bottom side, odd placement and no bowing of main shell so not sure what caused them. Hammer would probably flatten them back out. Let me know if you want it and we will work out MUDship.

I found an old school Warren Wench for the front of 40. Any good bumpers out there other than the Hell for Stout.

@jynx im going to Mardi Krawl if you want me to grab it before I leave...unless y’all are going down too.

Thanks Cole, but we are planning to make the Parti-krawl this year. Want to bring the 80 if I can get the tow rig sorted between now and then, otherwise we will just be chillin in the GX.

Hood hooks were painted the color of the body OEM.......
Not on my never been painted (when I bought it) and completely stock 78 FJ40.

Early ones were. I’ll figure out when it stopped. I know at least until 1970 they were body colored
The rig I was commenting on is a 76 and those should have been the silver color.

Factory literature shows painted hooks all the way to 1977. Pewter hooks took over after 78.

The reason you had Pewter ones on earlier trucks is that the paint wire fastest on these and were “upgraded” even if the truck was not painted.

So the stock 74 I had didn't have painted hooks either (and was painted by me). Was that one supposed to have painted hooks?

@FJ60Cam that has to be close to the Mosley motors headquarters. If I had a free weekend, I'd drive my butt over and haul that sob back to the farm
