After several trys, I found that Erin's old GX wheels cleared. Wheels off the white 80 are 17s and would fit, but the 15s off the 40 wouldn't fit back on the 80. Brown 80 wheels are 16 and the swampers fit, but the 16s wouldnt clear the TRE on the 40, so the GX wheels are on the 40 and the swampers are on the brown 80.... It was a helluva morning around here.

Bling bling baby

Took it for a spin and got up into the mid 40s. Still a little shimmy, but not as bad. Also did a crude toe check and it is toe'd in about a 1/4". I also think the knuckle bearings could stand to be replaced. All total I think it is a little bit of all of the above topped off with the swampers being such road friendly tires.

Guess I'm going to start researching some replacement tars and wheels for it. Also think the brown 80 may have found its calling.

Those poor quarter panels.:(

Lol, yeah I'm pretty sure what you see is what you get. The plate is the quarter for the most part I think. Already been looking it over and thinking the Pile tub may get rehab'd and swapped on at some point in the future. For now, it runs great and I can get it driving better. The sheet metal can be handled in time.

Putting this up for sale locally for someone that wants a nice tub, frame etc

1970 FJ40 - no title

What you get to use or sell separately

Rear 1/2 doors are excellent. Surface rust only. These sell on Mud for $400 all day

Tub and cowl - uncut fenders. Good solid truck. Pinholes in the main bed area but the rear channel is good. Main rust is right at the transmission hump. Weird spot

Heater is in. Some of the dash knobs I didn’t need are still there.

Rear axle. Rear shaft. 4 Springs.

F motor that turns according to guy I got from. 3 speed and 3 on tree with Tcase. Engine is mostly complete.

I’ll load it on your trailer for $1000 firm

Shortest 3 weeks ever. Ordered on Monday, invoice shows Tuesday, tag on the seat is dated Wednesday, delivered to my office on Friday. Must have been sitting on a shelf in Indiana... (For context, I was told it would be at least 3 weeks when I called, shipped in 3 days...)

@davework put's together a nice kit.

I’ve got a batch of the hard to find and get CCOT Pewter mixed up in my shop. I mixed too much, and have a fair bit leftover. It’s got a shelf life of 48 hours.

If anyone needs anything sprayed, contact me ASAP and come over and I’ll spray for you.

Well, after 450 miles, several hours of wondering why a hard top needed soo many bolts to hold it together and why you need 2 engineers to figure out how to put one back together once its been taken apart, @FJ60Cam, Mrs. Jynx and I had extracted the roll cage from @Jtranum's 68 that Cameron is putting the Mosley magic on.

Worth the effort to make sure little bit is under cover from her new back seat.

Thanks Cam for the heads up on the cage and for letting us invade your shop for a few hours.

Well got the seat mounted, but the cage install is going to take a little more effort...

The rear inner fenders have been built out of plate and are about 1.5" taller than a stock fender

So I'm going to have to modify the fender tops to lower them down so the cage will mount properly, either that or shorten the 4 rear legs. But if I ever do a tub swap then I will have to lengthen them back out. The fenders aren't welded solid so I think I can take the tops off, cut the sides and then replace the top sections with new plate.

But the seat fits like a glove.

Now just need belts.

I thought about that. Would probably be easier than redoing the whole fender.
