I run a newer ARB 50qt refer. When I ordered my basket, Dave hadn't fit one of the new ARBs yet. I sent him dimensions (now he has 'em for others) and he made a basket to fit my refer. Really great guy to work with. I'd contact him and ask about your specific application.

The tube basket you want is 7.25" high, 24" long and 13.75" wide. These are inside dimensions at 7.25" high.

What you need to do is set your 50 qt Yeti on the floor, measure up 7.25", make a mark, then measure length and width needed for clearance at that height.

On my 45 qt, I needed more like 25"x15" at that 7.25" height.

@whawa - I just put my rack on this past weekend. I went with the round tube basket, also. I'm going to pick up a Yeti 35qt, the 45qt is just a wee-bit too big. If i tried hard enough, i could probably heat it, bend it & force it... but it'd never come back out..

I can check the measurements tomorrow. However, if you check with Dave @lcwizard from 4Plus - he might be willling to build you a custom sized tube carrier; just be prepared to pay a bit more, and wait a bit longer. You'd have to give him the exact specifications of what you need. I've read some great comments and reviews, and Dave has been able to accomadate a few special requests. Just remember custom is custom. Otherwise, there's got to be a local shop that can fab what you are looking for - the modular design is extrmely custom fab friendly.

Th 35qt fits fine; with room for the straps. Gotten several compliments from non-cruiser heads also. Great work @lcwizard !

Yea. Love what you did with the OEM wagon wheels there. I want a set of those in 16x8.

Actually, the spare is the only one like that. I need to order a matching stock wheel - paint black to match the PO's paint scheme - and set it up as my spare.

I know this is a little late for a few of you but I sent Dave a Yeti 45qt cooler to get the dimensions and he now carries a round tube cooler carrier for it.

I am a month or so away from installing mine but Dave was passing through my area and he dropped it off for me so I couldn't pass up free shipping!

Will post pics when the time comes.

I have them same carrier on my '78, looks good!

If you're going to powder coat it, now would be the time.

Mine has been on and held up well for 2.5 years now, for several long wheeling and cross-country trips, plus I drive it a lot at home too. It's parked in a shop/garage but I don't wash it very often. Anyway, after 2.5 years it doesn't have any rust, and it's not in a dry climate either. The paint has rubbed off on the top of the bottom rail, where the rubber bumpers that hold the weight of the swing-outs sit on it. When I first installed mine, I touched-up any worn, scratched, or flaked areas with black Rust Bullet and it has absolutely stuck and done its job. Two thumbs up for Rust Bullet.

Here is a photo I took yesterday, after taking the top off for the season:

@1911 Can you tell me what you used for a license plate light?

It's a cheap little light I got at Wally World, in the trailer hitch aisle. Probably made for a trailer license plate light.

Thanks @1911.

I am about to order one of these and want to get all my parts on order. I am going with the tire carrier on the passenger side. That should make extending the license plate wiring a little easier.

Got mine mostly installed today. I went with a lefty.

I also ordered a 4+ tire carrier for my '70 FJ40. I didn't need the cooler carrier so I opted for the tire carrier only. My only concern is there were no installation instructions but I figured them out easily enough. The tire carrier is indeed heavy and well built and the packaging was exceptional. Dave Gore is easy to work with and his products are top notch.

Did make a mistake though. After I got it back from the hot rod shop, they installed the replacement fuel tank and I didn't have enough room to get back to the frame so I could bolt the carrier in. Rather than take the tank out I had it welded in. Not the most elegant of installations but it is secure and it works.

My rear bumper looking nice on the trail at Mardi Krawl this weekend. I was able to keep my LED lights and protectors in place.
Also, found a 50 qt igloo marine cooler that fits the standard basket. Burns through ice faster than a yeti but only cost around $30.

So, I have been considering one of these racks for my ride, and I've looked through this thread and photos, as well as the 4 Plus web site, and I have a question.
Once you swing out the tire or the basket, what keeps them from swinging back (if anything) when you are stopped at an angle or there is a lot of wind?
Thanks
Guy

I think it's maybe the same concept as the factory rack -- which has no provisions for holding open if you chose the wrong time to open it.
From my experience, the swing motion did have some resistance to it, I had to put a little bit of effort behind the opening and closing. Probably a good thing in the case you're describing. The good news is if it were to crash shut, it would be cracking into itself and not your rig....
