Is it worth it get the adapter for using the 3spd t/c ?

This is what I have 69FJ40 and I love 1 low low for putting along.

The trans /eng that is in there came without a TC so I went ahead and got a new shaft to make the old tc mate with the 4spd, This was more of a matter of luck than planning on my part.

I am looking at my 78 gear and the old 63 trans and TC and wondering if I will notice much difference with the4 spd TC?

Thanks, Myrle

If you are asking whether it is worth it to go to the trouble of adapting the 3sp transfer case to the H42 4 speed transmission, NO, it is not worth it IMHO.

The 3sp TC is only 15% lower ratio in low and there are cheaper ways to get much lower gearing.

I did the 4 sp/3sp setup on my 78. It is noticable vs original t/c. If you have the money, get an Orion t/c (4:1). That's my plan anyway.

Thanks, I just did not want to overlook this incase the change was significate.
