I think the past headers were also ceramic coated, at least the original group buy was as per Nick. The only thing that changed with this group buy was switching to 304 stainless.

One question I have been having is this: If a manifold stud breaks what do I to to remove it and install a new one? Will this require drilling and tapping the engine? My rig is GA raised so 0% rust. I don't plan on having any breakages but you never know. 12 year old bolts....
So no heat issues? I have a set from this 3rd run in the garage.
Supra88 said:You won't have any issues. If you have corrosion, which you probably won't, it will be on the nut/stud interface. In this case the stud will back out with the nut. Every one of my studs backed out.
If you go back a few pages, someone posted up the reasoning from DT on they changed the steel, IIRC it was due to a heat issue they discovered on a set of headers for another model of truck.
Do a search of on the other DT header threads or in the 100 section, if anybody has had heat problems they would have posted it by now. The original group buy was almost 2 years ago, so people have been running the DT headers for a bit now.

100surf said:I bought my set (100LC) from the first group buy and had heat issue. Basically the header cracked after 11 months just at the Y. I contact Nick @ DT back in August and he sent me a new set last week.Going to install them sometime next week.
Seems like rigs in rust free areas aren't having studs back out.

Supra88 said:Well then - looks like 5 spares should be fine!
2000UZJ said:Hopefully it's enough. Do you think I could break the nut look and reuse it on the new stud? Hoping I don't have to
Wow - anyone else had issues like this? Which side?
The install isn't going to throw any codes. I've done 2 of these install and the sensors are not an issue.
As far as smog I have not tested but I cannot see these being an issue at your neighborhood smog test station for visuals and certainly not at the tail pipe since the cats are intact.
