92 FJ80

I just got a white 92 FJ80 with only 99k original miles owned by an older couple. I have taken off the running boards and getting rid of all the chrome. I just did the 3fe magic screw and found that it was backed all the way out. I snugged it back up. It made a huge difference in my low end speeds/taking off. The only issues I have are a leaking front diff and a strong gas smell. I think the tank seal is shot and I'm going to pull up the carpet to get to the access door. The inside is like new with the second and third row seats having never been used. It took me three months to find a clean one. I love it.

i had the same problem get your valves checked before its to late and you burn them

Idaho dirt rider

I just recently bought my Land Cruiser, it's a 92 with of corse the 3FE! I bought it with 150,000 miles for 4300 cash. One steal of a deal, it came with a whole folder of records since it was first purchased. It even has a sales reciept from 1995 someone bought it for 29,000 with 55,000 miles and they payed with cash! Quite the price tag back in 95 for a used wagon.
I do have one concern the steering is loose, but other than that she is a beauty! Anyone with a 91 or 92 LC feel free to send a friend request, I would love to enhance my knowlage of this beautiful machine. Let me know of any problems you have encountered or are facing. I will be posting pictures ASAP!

New 3FE Owner

I'm a new owner of a very clean and well maintained 1991 FJ80. I searched for weeks and originally had settled on a FZJ80, until I found this one. I really liked the simplicity of it including the smaller flares and cloth interior (that looks almost new). It came with a clean car fax with all maintance listed. Got it with 146K miles and I doubt it every saw snow, dirt, mud or anything else but freeway.

It does lack power but really only noticeable on hills but I think it adds a little to the overall no nonsense, purpose built, character.

First impressions: Took it offroad completely stock and was blown away with it's capability, as were the friends I went with in thier modified jeeps. On road it feels like a tank and the gas consumption supports the feeling.

Plans/Mods: I already added powder coated 16x8 FZJ80 wheels with 305/70/16 Toyo MTs and the OME 2.5" lift kit from Sleeoffroad (not a fan of how it sits almost 2" higher in back). I would like to add new bumpers and maybe an aluminum roof rack. A light window tint because it gets hot in the car and and upgraded stereo. Down the road maybe ARB lockers but if I do that I'll probably regear it. For now I'm going to enjoy the recent mods.

Want to thank all those that share thier stories on here as this site has been extremely helpful for me during the purchasing phase and with the mods I've done.

Nice truck. I plan on putting the same OME lift and same size tires soon. From the pictures it does not look to high in the back. I think it looks great. I have a white 92 and love it. I dont mind going slow. That is why it is called a Land Cruiser and not a Land Racer. I only had mine for a few weeks and have been changing all the fluids, plugs, Etc... I will post pictures once I git rid of the pimp my ride chrome wheels that came on the truck. Chrome on a Cruiser should be a sin.

Just bought one...

Hello 3F'ers

I recently purchased a 1992 Land Cruiser. Everything is stock. Doesn't appear to be the most well maintained vehicle but doesn't look like its been wheeled much either.

I live in southeast Washington state near the Blue Mountains.

Issues: I'm sure there are more than I know, but I have an intermittent coolant leak that's bothering me the most right now. Working on getting up the snuff on PM. So far, I've changed air filter, engine oil and filter, drain and fill (no flush) transmission, drain and fill transfer case, and rotated the tires. Plan to change diff fluids in the next week or two.

Thanks for keeping this site up and running!

I just got a 1992 Landcruiser. I guess it has a 3FE engine (4.0L inline 6) Can anyone help me to identify the engine. My name is Ron and I live out here in Draper, UT (Salt Lake valley).

91 and 92 80 Series Land Cruisers had the 3FE. Welcome to the slow lane!

Bought my cruiser about a year ago and finally decided to drop in and say hi. Its a 1992 with 198K. No mods yet as I am still working through the baseline maintenance. If there are any other FJ80 guys in Great Falls, MT look me up.

New to the Land Cruiser Game

Recently bought this 1992 FJ80

Completely stock.
Needs some work.

Not looking to go crazy with it, I'd like to take it back to original with minor upgrades.

I'm here looking for advice and pointers...

92 FJ80. 198K miles. Burgundy exterior. Near perfect interior, looks like new. I understand why some say, "welcome to the slow lane," but I love it. It is such a beast and I can't wait to get it off road and in the woods.
