TOYOTA finally has a FULL SIZE Canister Filter to Rplace the old 15600-41010 , .....make sure u use this , and NOT the SHORTY-SHRIMP one from your local toyota dealer

- of the new full size TOYOTA one is scarce , the full size DENSO canister is SOLID and also a FULL SIZE UNION SANGO too

Matt thank you for the bigger toyota reference on filter. Picked up a few today from molle toyota and they asked what vehicle i was using it on, and said they couldnt figure it out.

dont think their system connects the bigger filter to the 80 series trucks.

so, thanks a lot much appreciated for the info!!

Wasn’t someone selling alternators on this thread? Pretty sure mine is on the outs. Went back to almost April and couldn’t find it. Hit me up if so.

I thought I had posted here already. Guess not.

One more 3FE FJ80 rescued and back on the road after sitting for a few years. Bought it in April 2022 and got it back on the road almost a year ago. Click the link in my signature to read all the work we did. It's still got a ways to go, but is much more enjoyable now.

Has anyone replumbed rear heater hoses/lines, or completed the delete on an fj80 3F-E? Or know if the fj80 is the same difficulty as fzj80 in the replacement/delete?

My lines on 91 are about to go! Noticed a drop of coolant, got a couple poor lighting (flash) pics.

Searched but couldnt confirm if the 3F-E 80s were unique or not to fzj’s.

- Find out Every Single Delete Cap ID / Metal tubes / aluminum ports / hose bibs you require

- make me a simple ALA-CART parts request list , PM it to me please ,

- i keep in-stock every single TOYOTA Genuine Parts japan Spec. LifeTime Service Parts multi-layer type design EPDM Black Rubber DELETE Caps on a
3F-E , here

- if im correct , you will ONLY require the 13mm & 16mm Size Spec's here , but a smaller one could be involved like up in front T-STAT Housings , and at intake throttle body idle air speed control valve , is ONLY a technical example of the various SMALLER then 13mm Id caps

- each life-time service cap comes with a OEM Stainless Steel Double Wire traditional Bayoneted hose clamp too ....

- i am KNEE DEEP into a 100% Correct & 100% TOYOTA Genuine Parts ONLY full-on De-Smog on my
3F-E

- this has led me to be super freshy on this topic above also ,

- in the course of events un-folding , some of which i am new to at my shop , as GHOST is my Personal SHOP ROAD RUNNER , i have dug harder then ever before and plowed into the un-charted waters of several FJ80 3F-E URBON LEGOND mystery's ,

- i can report in hered at 3F-E check-in , that the following below needed parts topics are now 100% solved and others below are in final phases of proto-type testing and final development too

- FJ80
3F-E desmog kit form plug and play , 100% TOYOTA japan Spec. parts , including drive belt , P/S and the BIG EGR Union Fitting at exaust manifold ....

- this is a super clean way to end the mystery , that is on the DECK now staging for store <

- plug and play P/S Tensioner Pulley restore kit , factory exact bearing , new oem snap ring , NEW , slider block , carriage bolt , the chrome ACHORN nut and lock down nut , and finally the SHOULDER bolt to lock the slIder in-place after final belt tension adjust

- Disc. / NLA Part #
87209-60130 heater pipe , sub assy . is ALIVE once again , and made in JAPAN too ! :D

- the flat IDLER black Can / Drum , is almost here from JAPAN , special run made by OEM parts maker ...

- Throttle Body Gasket Professionally stamped out , in many qty. .......

- FJ80 Harness Side KIT FORM Fusible Links Connector Plug & its 10ga white wire / w red tracer stripe , includes a OEM Fusible Links as well ....

- the most recent kool-ness is : Battery Terminals refresh and restore kit , includes the WORLDS BEST Dam OEM YAZAKI Japan parts , on the planet , including its GULL-WING Door / bays features in each side to allow for Fusible Links Entry , and also a future assy. tap to the OEM 8mm x 1.25 threaded stud , that now creates BOTH Positive and Negative Simple . safe and serviceable ,and indeed ADD-ON stackable rings of your delight of any kind morning , noon , and into the NIGHT ...... 🎇

- to name a few , i will update more here as progress continues ...

thanks

ToyotaMatt ....

How's this coming along? Does it require a new intake, and/or exhaust headers?

- no new intake

- no new exhaust manifolds / or the collector / Y pipe ,

- removing your valve cover is a must-do , i wanted to see the top end valve train anyway so i can see if age and time had left there mark , sludge and stuff , NO WAY to remove the air rail with out the cover off period , i also pulled the Throttle body and IAC valve off too , this made logic to me clearly , come to find out a 3F-E throttle body gasket is NLA / Disc. ?

- but IAC valve gasket is on many toyota's so its eazy-peezy to have , i am on the fence to install a AIR-RAID Throttle Body spacer or not here on GHOST ?

- the factory Titanium Air injection port delete plugs installed nicely , and there precision flat bottom seats did there job well , NO sealer or teflon tape here.... NO !

- i run the factory air box set-up with the top-tier oem filter too , it Technically is classified under the CYCLONE option , but i need to do more homework on that TOYOTA OEM Microfiche term and how it can or could relate to a 3F-E ?

so it should make fundamental sense , since the exhaust is freed up a but , yet DOES have a 6-cylinder correctly tuned muffler back pressure i had verified by the folks here locally set up to correct the KILLER-exhaust death detail below ...

- i AM leaving both O2 sensors in place as well as the cat. converter , the PO recently had a high end kustom exhaust shop hand-kraft a all stainless steel system , factory manifolds back , including some sort or HIGH-FLOW performance new Cat , i short-pinned the ECU and ZERO TCCS-ECU CEL or any codes recent or current , so leaving that well alone makes sense to me now , no reason to go there , if you follow me here .....?

- one RED FLAG ill share , the PO i guess was some sort of crusader , and spec'd the exhaust shop to do this below , its super Dangerous as sh#T to do this , i DO get mild exhaust odor in the cab of the truck , the rear hatch weather seal is torn most likely cause of that , but as a simple common sense rule , unless you want to join the WALKING DEAD , never do this .....

- the tip needs to be located and positioned so the outward flow is simply swept away , this so called off-road detail , causes a swirl effect , like rotation under the truck ,,,,,,

- i will be having a simple stainless extension made and routed exactly as TOYOTA designed it to go and be , with a added niche late modle toyota feature , of a 45' degree angle at the very end , and enlarging the last say 5" inches , this will allow passing air from both under the chassis , and more over drivers side are passing by to sweep at away at the same time . the enlarging of the tip slightly gives the end of the line a mild sporty tone , and is strictly a Audible Bling thing , also cosmetically pleasing too . ALWAYS square cut ends of tail pipes , NEVER miter cut like this either , the miter angle cut will rust a-lot faster and looks like some GM detroit ghetto detail too ...

- i have the made in JAPAN TOYOTA Genuine Parts Mitsubishi Bando pretty Yellow striped cogged 17mm correct shorter P/S drive belt dial in , and this here below too

- the whole EGR delete proved to be the biggest challenge , i really hunted hard core gloabby for a threaded service cap , so as NOT to have to have the added step of removing the burly-azz double male threaded union , but end of the day it was diving deep into the international price tape structure to find this sexy-sassy OEM toyota genuine part JAPAN spec' service / hex nut ...... , honestly i thought this was going to be a no-go and i would personally and professionally fail my original mission statement , but i guess lucky is a proper term here on this hex-nut below , and of course a OEM freeze-plug for the egr hole in the intake , both rim of plug and inner diameter bore of intake , lightly coated with 00295-00105 black FIPG of course ......:D

It always fascinates me how meticulous TOYOTA japan plating is , you would never see that on a China 🇨🇳 crap DORMAM plug or a USA made one for that matter ..

After a few minutes head scratching and convincing myself that my IR231 Ingorol Rand 1/2” air impact could in theory Crack the front exhaust manifold like ICE ?

- the time tested use of a OXY torch , rapidly applied pin point precision cherry 🍒 red status made removing the double male threaded EGR union a simple 1/2 “ long hand ratcheting eazy-peezy step ….done
-

I have recreated the unique ACHORN nut equipped P/S pulley slider adjust and lock down bolt parts , I’m waiting on that darn odd shoulder bolt now , it’s getting reproduced in a super hard alloy stainless …

Also , a 10pack of the OEM NSK JAPAN sealed bearings and new Snap rings too !

what 3F-E parts are you rebuilding ?
I was just looking to do some research into what parts I'd need to give the engine a refresh. I don't think it needs a full rebuild, probably just gaskets tbh. She's 32 years old after all and I have no documentation on any gasket work ever being done. No coolant smell or foam in oil, but I do get leakage on cold morning startups, I think from the pan. Now that I've searched gasket kits I've found a few things on ebay.

so first time poster long time reader. Anyway I have 92 3fe that’s just starting spewing up oil. At first thought maybe the drain plug was tightened. That was fine the bolts on the oil pan ended up being loose so tightened them. Changed the oil and still spewed up all the oil. It only really dumps oil while it’s running. Any ideas? See photos i have a video as well… TIA

Hi all from Melbourne Australia. Long time lurker and only recently made an account while learning about the intricacies of the FJ80.
We have 3 cruisers; 2x 1991 HDJ80 (both 1hdt auto) and 1x 1992 FJ80 (3fe auto).

The FJ80 was purchased around a year ago and needed quite a lot of maintenance and trouble shooting due to having sat for 4 years. My latest issue is that it appears to have either split a lower radiator hose or possibly the metal joiner pipe has corroded. I've ordered new hoses. But I can't find a part number or pic online of the pipe. I suspect it is NLA from the dealership and will likely need to get some 1.5" tube from the exhaust shop. If anyone has some pics and measurements of that joiner pipe it's going to really save me some hassles. (I can't get out to the car for a week)

Some of the things I've done:
Full brake system rebuild with extended braided lines to suit >2" lift
New pads, rotors, master cylinder, all calipers rebuilt
Swivel hubs and wheel bearings
Driveshaft universal joints
Replaced worn steering box
Welded cracked panhard mount
Service items like cap/rotor/leads/plugs/coil
Fitted two new NTK o2 sensors and deleted the cats
Removed and flushed fuel tank, fitted a new pump
Injector service with new o-rings
Checked over LPG system, added a primer, rewired, new hoses
Rebuilt original drivers seat and also sourced a Recaro seat
Fitted IPF extreme led spotlights (soon upgrading headlights to HID)
Longer term plans are to fit a baby Cummins R2.8/ISF2.8

New 3FE owner here. Just imported a VX Limited from Japan with only 169000 kilos (106k mi) on the clock. I got a little carried away and also brought in a 2-door prado turbodiesel which I am more likely to keep, so if anyone is interested in a very clean and nearly rust-free FJ80, give me a shout. Once I have the new alternator put in (OEM died trying to drive it home from the port pick-up lol), and if Pennsylvania ever gets off their high horse and lets me title it, I'll be looking to sell. I just don't have the time, money and mechanical know-how to keep them both running even though I'd love to.
