I don't remember the exact brand. From Amazon so probably a Spectra. The bottom plastic portion leaks from the seam where it meets up with the aluminum core. I did read the CSF is not all that reliable, but it sure is hard to find a decent alternative.

Edit: Rolled the dice and bought this one. Radiator PERFORMANCE RADIATOR 1469 fits 91-92 Toyota Land Cruiser | eBay

Post impressions of the radiator once you get it if you don't mind, I'm still trying to decide which one to buy.

I did hear a clunk at some point when it shifted. The guy said something about it having a "viscous coupling" that makes that sound as it develops some play throughout the years but that it is nothing unusual or that something is broken. Any further input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Just got an email. Cancelled order, damaged fins and it was his last one. Ordered this one instead- https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0759B3R55/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3FK1AL9WS2ATG&psc=1

Cool thread never read through it and glad i finally did. Enjoying the radiator discussion above. i'm close to replacing my water pump and all the other fun stuff down in there, and thought about getting a new radiator. After reading yall's experiences, and accumulated knowledge regarding replacement options and availability in general, I'd be ill advised to not run my "omg still might be the original radiator" radiator. Doesn't look pretty but hanging int here like a champ.

Figured I’d go to the 3FE folk on this one..

I’m currently in the middle of a motor rebuild so with the engine out, I also wanted to delete the rear heater (amongst many other things). All of the threads I’m reading seem to to be for FZJ’s and I’m not sure if it’s the same. I live in Hawaii so no need for the rear heater, just curious if there are any threads for a 91 rear heater delete?

Aloha

Is the rear heater worth keeping if you live somewhere cold? I’m not sure what to do with mine either, I need to re plumb it if I keep it.

What do you cold climate guys think about the rear heater?

If it's working fine, people in the rear don't seem to mind. It can get cold going up to the ski resorts. Even colder on the way home.
Mine works great, and I'll keep it in that condition.

just cap the tees going to the rear heater...

Awesome! Saw the notification from 'TomOsborne' and figured it couldn't have been a coincidence. I'm sure you're not surprised to hear that I had to fly to PHX to find a Cruiser with no rust.
lol no I am not surprised. Good lord i could not imagine what they must look like up there. My 80 came from Miami and there isn't a flake of rust. I like to take the wheels off and stare at the frames beauty.

Sorry to hear that...sounded pretty exciting

Yeah, it was. By now I own a 3FE. It has kept me busy. I hope to get her in shape soon. I probably should hqve waited for a better example, but thought it was more solid than it really is given what the shop that did the pre-purchase inspection told me. Hey, frame is solid, has good breaks, tires, runs, and the body is not that bad... she just needs some TLC + lots of PM. Hahaha. It will be a great experience and we are very excited to own an 80!

I’m new to this and pretty jazzed at the same time...my is a 3FE also and needs lots too, but I knew that up front. This group has bad for me....I spend so much time reading post on how to make my ‘91’ better. Currently, going through dealing with radios....sense mine is missing and all the speakers....but ok with that, because I would up grade anyway.

Also, started talking with a gentleman from Lewiston who is desmogging his unit, in which I want to do also.

FYI....my 91 has 189k in the clock and I just pulled a two horse trailer full of cottonwood to burn in my wood stove....that in line six did what I needed to do....not fast, but not slow.....average around 60mph....good enough for me. As the saying is.....its not perfect....until you modify....now you have a chance to fine tune her for you personal likes... have a great Christmas .

I am having so much fun with my 91 3FE....she needs a lot of attention....and thats ok......I bought her as a project rig. I towed a two horse trailer full of cottons wood to burn in my house. She handled it just fine....not a speed demon, but not slow poke joe either. Average around 60 mph....and thats just fine for me, traveling the narrow back roads of montana. There’s is much to be done with her.....but I am liking her more and more.1
