So i just put a new rebuilt 3fe in my 75 fj40 and it starts and runs like a dream until it warms up. I have tried multiple things to make it work but not success. The motor was in good working order when I pulled it and had it rebuilt. The only difference is I deleted the egr and pump. I have been playing with the vsv valves but nothing seems to work. Any ideas guys.

This forum tech section is for the 2007+ FJ Cruiser, not FJ40s.
Looks nice. Fuel injection works great until it doesn't. Brain boxes work great until they don't. I like my simple carb, with a straight mechanical advance distributor and no brain boxes except behind the wheel. Good luck.
Since it seems to be a temperature issue, maybe one of the temp sensors or switches for the ECU is bad? There instructions in the 3FE supplement for checking that.

I call it a hiccup not sure if it’s missing or a fuel. I can get on it and it kinda comes out of it. I keep reading it could be the idol control valve but the idol is perfect. When I tested the valve it didn’t activate properly so maybe that’s it. It runs like a Swiss watch when it’s cold.
