That looks like a great remote that is worthy of our solid axle land tanks! Thanks for your hard work, I am so excited to see the final product!

I've got all the final tweaks done. Now time for your input. Do you like the tread pattern on the back or would you prefer a blank, flat back? I'd be open to other basic designs as well.

Let me know what you think, @UCLAcruiser , and I'll get the final product ordered and get you your remote back to you!

On the Isuzu version: I took another look and it's actually a different internal mechanism. Similar, but different. It's plenty doable, but it'll take a few prototypes to get it dialed in. I have a lot of other projects going on so it may be tough to get it finished this year.

I like the tire tread pattern. It gives it a little character. Great job dude!! I am sure this will be a hit!

Holy Cow, sorry I missed this! I thought I checked back just a couple days ago and there was still no reply. I came to follow up again tonight and low and behold, I'm the hold-up!

I'm ordering the parts tonight and should have them within a couple weeks at which point your remote will be back in hand and these will be up for sale with the tread pattern. I think it adds a lot to the design. The back plain is just so boring.

I think this one turned out awesome and I'm excited to see if any of you hardcore 80 guys manage to break it! ;)

No worries! You have done some great work my friend. Can't wait to see the final product! :)

I hadn't checked this thread for a long time so missed the 80 series discussion. If you do end up with a single button 80 series I would love a couple. Let me know if you need a donor fob.

Black, bright yellow, or safety orange would be my preference for colors.

The one button and Isuzu remote 80 series guys are going to enjoy having quality options! Can't wait to see the final product!

You guys (mud members) are awesome. You'll have an incoming PM soon. I would love a donor fob to get a single button version going. You'll get a free fob out of the deal. You'll have to be patient, though. UCLAcruiser was without his for months while I dialed in the design.

Yours is ready to ship! It won't get out until Tuesday though, because I have in-laws to entertain for a few days.

put me down for one of the 80 series ones, please let me know when they are ready.....

I'll definitely be ready to buy when they are finished as well!

Up for sale shortly! I have 3 units ready, but need to get the admin side of things (website, paypal, etc..) set-up to receive orders for these. I'll send a PM to you two when it's ready to roll.

Thanks guys. This is fun stuff and I'm hoping this leads to some significant side-income and/or becomes a small part of a full-time business. You're helping me take a small step towards a life-long dream.

I just dug out my remote and realized it's an isuzu style remote :-/. I guess I'll wait till those come out if you end up making one!

black please........

Not much of an update on the 80 series (sorry guys, it's coming), but I do have an update for all the plastic stuff I print.

I have played around with painting enough that I think I may switch over to offering painted parts in any color. I plan to offer a standard set of colors, likely the list below. Anything other than that would be doable, but I'd charge a sircharge to buy custom paint.

Proposed Standard Colors:
Black
Red
Orange
Neon Yellow/Green
Flat Dark Earth
OD Green
Gray

The paint seems to seep into the plastic well and may offer a more durable finish. Most importantly I'll get more consistent colors.

Will we still have the option to go with unpainted fobs in black or some other basic color(s)?

I think I'd prefer black plastic since I would think anything on a keychain is going to take a bit of a beating, & I'd be concerned about the paint chipping or flaking.

Thanks again for your work on these.

Black: Yes. Other colors: Not sure.

It mostly depends on feedback from you guys.

I'll show a comparison of my home-painted vs dyed parts before I make the formal switch. The dyed pieces (what I'll refer to as "unpainted") have a lot of variability in the color. I don't like that variation and would like to hold it more constant. The black is the only color that's been steady so I plan to keep offering that in a dyed color no matter what.

Another option that I plan on offering is plain, unpainted white. That way you guys can choose your own color if you'd like.

Lots of possibilities, but mostly just comes down to what you all collectively want. I'm here to please, haha.

I'm in for a black 80 fob

I have the Isuzu style as well, (actually did the same thing and bought isuzu remote) - I NEED a replacement cover to make me happy.

I just ordered a red one yesterday! Cannot wait to get it! the PO of my cruiser glued the old key together and it lasted me 4 years so not bad. My only worry now is how much glue he used and what I will have to deal with when I break that key apart.
