Hay NAY how heavy is your wheel and tire?

About 100 lbs. I'm just giving you crap, but honestly I think you're lucky if you get a used tire like this to really balance perfectly.

o am I suppose to balance the tires  I have not tryed to do that yet.
100 lbs is not bad.
I would think the heaver the tire and wheel the more the chance of braking something?

well bean on the telly withe cdan. This truck has 167k miles on and was all stock and sat for about a year or so.
So I opted to do a front end refresh.I have trunnion,/ wheel bearings and all the seals on order.I also figured that wile I am in there I might as well do rosters and pads so I oped for I think cdan said Tacoma pads are a good choice.I need to order a steering stabilizer soon and then get the tires a balance job.
We will go from there.
Also working on my A.R.B. FRONT BUMPER mocking up a tow bar and a multi mount winch slot and a lower front skid plate.:wrench::wrench:

Generally ya'. Not sure what the hummer tires weigh on their own. I'm guessing that 140 is alot of weight in the bead lock rims. More unsprung weight also does bad things for your suspension performance, but if you want big tires, you just have to deal with it (a good set of shocks will work wonders at this size).

I guess I've been lucky. I've had 7 mounted and balanced ( 1 punchtured sidewall w/ a tree, 1 sidewall puncture w/ nail, 1 damaged from bumper hitting, 1 I just didn't trust the looks of it :) ) - and they've all balanced out. They've all taken a fair amount of weight, but most 37's do. At this size, unless your running 18 or 20" rims, the rubber is getting pretty far out from where the balancing weights are. In theory that's the advantage of the balancing beads / BB's, the weight is out at the outer circumfrence of the tire.

so after my lift I have not had a alinement. the new tires & wheels are not balanced and the steering stabilizer lost all it's oil and the wheel bearings keep backing off;p ....
:hmm:Do you think this might have something to do with the wobble:doh:
I will be doing some:wrench::wrench: and spending more $$ but I think it will all work out just fine after I do all this s h i - but it will be worth it in the end.
I will post after I start working on it just waiting for some new parts.:grinpimp: and my back to get better after lifting that damn 140 lb tire & wheel on to the spare tire carrier

I run 37" Interco - you're lucky of those balance, too :D

I am putting the balancing beads in my next set, and then having them spun on the Hunter for any lateral issues or remaining imbalance. If they run really clean, I'll be a convert - the $80 or so for the beads will pay for themselves in the reduced wear in other front end components. We'll see :hillbilly:

I don't think the machine won't be able to read the balance with any type of balancing medium inside the tire.

FWIW Trailworthy Fab has started shipping their balder tires to Treadwright, so now they have Treadwright 37" Guard Dogs in 16.5!

They're cheaper through TWF than through Treadwright too!

Now THAT is cool. I love my old school MTRs and since they're not made anymore, I could see that tire becoming quite popular.

Yeah they started that because the military still hasn't released the 16.5 MTRs in mass quantity to the public like the MT's.

Check out Tread Wright from time to time though quite often that size of guard dog are at a sale price of $145

Ok puled the panhard out did a search on length of panhad rod and slee had a old post of the length.THANKS SLEE .. I had to shorten it just under a inch:whoops:.And I adjusted the steering box in a bit, checked the alinement it was right on. had to shorten the rca over a inch all so:doh:. same old post from SLEE. put about 28 oz of BBs in each of my tires. My tires and wheels weigh about 140lbs.. bingo the wobble is all most gone .
Just waiting to get my new stabilizer my old one leaked out all the oil.
I did just notice a pop sound in the front end after I got back from my test run.
Will the front lca make a popping sound ?

Glad you like how the truck is running now but IMO there is no magic number for adjusting these parts. You have to make them fit your particular truck. If they were designed to fit all trucks at a given length then they wouldn't be adjustable.

bhmmapping hit the nail on the head.I need new lock washers. The tab that keeps them from spinning is wore down just enough to let that washer move around the shaft.

landtank you are correct all so there is no magic to it just trial and error.
I am so close to getting it to the point I can drive it to work and run my kids around in it with me
Hay SLEE I did not mean to speak for you on the panhard length. I still can not find the post on that but it got me close. And I am just tweeking things in.
I went for a drive last night and no wobble but I can feel a bit of shimmy in the wheel and all most feels like its on the verge of starting the wobble.
So I will put my new steering stabilizer on to day.I adjusted the steering box back a 1/2 turn and the snapping sound seems to be gone to all so.But I wish I would left it alone now it is leaking from where the shaft inters into it:frown:

Man, I've got to get me a set of those wheels.

Having never seen the inside of this particular tire, I cannot speak to how it's supposed to look, but it does seem a bit lumpy to me.

Im thinking the wheels would be awesome specially if your in an area with strict laws since theyre legal beadlocks
