I currently am running 33x10.5 BFG AT's on a 2.5" OME lift on an FJ62. I have been looking at bigger tires and I was wondering if you can fit 35" BFG's on a 2.5" lift or if I would need to upgrade to a 4" lift for them to fit?

Don’t think so, will rub.

Cheers

35s will rub up front on the mud flap when turning with a standard ome lift. You’d need AAL, extended shackles or reverse shackle, or custom lift springs up front. If you plan to wheel it, it will rub for sure with a standard lift and not recommended.

Auto trans will be a slug and a trans cooler is necessary.

35’s, SuA and no rub. Flexed well too. Took some work to get there.

Yeah, what they said. Stick with the 33's and post up some pics of your ride. Welcome.

Thanks for the help

I suppose I should take my own advise and post pics.
Here is a pic of my 60 when we test fitted 35's with an OME lift.
There was rubbing with flat driving let alone off road work.

As SNLC said though it can be done if you're in love with the idea.

I had a set of 35" MT's for my trail rig back in 2004, and one day just for fun I put them on my FJ62 with OME suspension. Looked pretty cool, but it was rub-o-licious every time I hit a bump. I didn't think it was possible to make that truck any slower, but that was one way to do it (stock gearing). The A440 let me know pretty quickly that it wasn't happy and wasn't gonna put up with that for very long.

@lonelydriver Are they 34x11.5's? What size rim? what backspace are you running. With 3.5 you don't think they will rub? Even when flexed?

I have 17x9 with 3.5 Bs and its too aggressive.

285 75 17

this setup rubs on my ome lift will likely extend bump stops or body lift 1"

I did 295 70 17's. (33x11) on 7.5" wide Taco rims. Needed 1.25" spacers. Getting some rubbing on the lower front fender when stuffed in and turning.
