Its official just left the tire store with my brand spankin new 315 BFG MT's. LOVE EM!! I just wanted to say that if you have a stock 80 and your looking to do some mild stuff go with the OME low height lift and a set of 35"s will fit and not rub (On Beach and excursions, but never tried to flex her out yet).

Nice tires, looked at the STT's the MT/R's, Toyo and Geo's and i ended up with these bad boys. Was almost going to do the MT/R's but heard alot of bad news about them on wear and such.

Pics are on the way.....

35's will rub on flex. It's not a matter of how much lift you have the wheel well is still the same size.

Actually it depends. Offset can greatly have an effect on rubbing. And we must remember a BFG 35 is really more like a 33. I had 35" BFG MTs on my last 80. They didn't rub but I had Js. I still wouldn't buy them again.

The classics i had on my Heep hangler and those were OK, these new style MT's are Very Nice, they are very smooth and the truck actually rides better with these then my Nitto Terra Grapplers.

I have to say i'm impressed! And they are 34.8" in size, we measured them at the at the shop, so yes they are a "true 35" that i can see.

Check the new Mt's out.....There worth it!

If they're closer to 33 than I can see it not being an issue. My 35 Toyo's on stock rims required bumpstop drop and mudflap/flare trimming. IIRC the actual measurement I took was 34 7/8's. If I flexed it by running the front passenger tire up a ledge, the rear driver side would begin to rub at about the point at which the rear passenger tire came off the ground (if that makes sense). No matter what the lift, if you stuff a tire you're still stuffing it in to the same size wheel well.

Moj, like i was saying in my opening post, they do not rub in Expedition and Beach runnings. I never tried to stuff the tires yet, i do not think they would stuff with-out rubbing. I do not do what you guys do, i do mild stuff, beach (Fishing), light trails, MUD, and Fun in the heavy snow in the winter.

Do you think one of these would fit on my Kaymar??

Eric - You coming to the TAC event in Missouri?

Have any pics yet?

Why do people keep saying the BFG 315-75-16 is closer to to 33" instead of 35? According to their catalogue, they are 34.8" in diameter. This is a far cry from 33". I've also measured a set myself and got 34.75". So keep that in mind - and if you have any doubt go to a tire shop and measure for yourself.

without flares, my 315 MTRs will rub in full flex. I really need to stuff them though and the rubbing is pretty minimal.

with J coils . ?

Yep, it fits the kaymar tire carrier perfectly. And no i am not undergeared becuase i am not in a mountain cascaded area. Like i was saying before, i use the truck for 'Expedition and Beach Cruising". I do not really care about Flex to the point where i am going to need it. I'm getting better mileage (no shart) and the truck feels just as peppy as it did with my Nitto 33's.

i dig it!

Pics are comming soon. I am still looking for my damn camera charger!!!

I am deffinately going with BFG MT's. My buddy who has a Tundra switched from the AT's and said there is no contest and not enough noise difference to affect a choice. He's a family man so I figure a single guy like my self would not have a problem with MT's. I do plan to go with 285's tho so I don't have to re-gear. Luckily I have a hook-up through a Baja race team to save some coin on these pricey tires. I will probably offer my truck and assistance as a chase vehicle to express my grattitude.

I don't have J coils.

As it should be.....................:D

It's official, my 80 is mall cruiser. :flipoff2: 37's and a 2" lift.

315 / 35 BFG MT'S are nominally 35 inch tires. Actually larger diameter than BFG AT's.

No offense, but if you stuffed 35's under a non-lifted 80 it's a mall cruiser plain and simple.

You will need J springs and other stuff to make 35's really work on an 80. Not to mention you are way under geared.

It's official allright. Your tires are too big. Big tire for the sake of big tire, when smaller ones would do a better job and cost less.

To everyone his own. Good luck.
