33's vs. 35's for my 80 Series

I have not measured, the 1.5" was decided by previous owner, is there a good guide on measuring for that?
Info concerning wheel back spacing and offset can be found on the internet by wheel manufactures and sellers. This would be the way to learn what you need to know rather than listen to the opinions of mud members who are not professionals in this arena.

I am not sold on spacers, but the rims are quite cool

do you run any spacers? if not, what backspacing do your rims have?

hmm, seems that slee has a set of spacers that are 1.5" wide as well, wonder if the pockets are deeper on those, going to ask.

TBH I would rather run rims with the correct amount of backspacing, but the Toyota steel ones only seem to come in 4.5" and not 3"
Stock backspacing on an 80 series is 4 1/2 inches the wheels you have are probably 5 1/2 inches or more

I measured backspace yesterday, 4.5"
If that’s the case then those wheels should be a good fit with out spacers
Even with the 35- 12.50 there should be minimal rubbing, just in the back inside of the wheel well.

To be clear Back spacing is measured form the lip on the back side of the wheel to mounting surfaces like this.

Thanks! that picture matches up with the guide I followed.

I will be running the LX without those spacers for a bit anyway (while the wallet recharges) will see if I get any rubbing while doing a little wheeling!

If you hate spacers, and like the steelie look, but want to maintain stock width, wheel vintiques makes a cool steelie that comes in 16x8 and 17x8 4.5BS. One of the best looking wheels on the market, IMO, even though it just looks like a stock base-model wheel from the early 80s.

Has anyone done brake upgrades in this thread? Just had my front brakes slip on me this morning going over nothing that should have made it slip. Checking the booster this afternoon.

If your brakes are working correctly, you shouldn't have a problem at that size. I can lock up my 37x13.5s on factory brakes and I know a few others around here can lock up 39s and 40s, but I spent some time making sure the whole system is good
What were some of the parts you checked to make sure?
I tested the booster with the pedal test and it checked out, got stiff after the first press, and let pressure out after turning the truck over.

So mine saw a lot of normal things, but also a couple I can't just out and recommend for everyone. My booster is good, but my master was leaking. So I replaced the master and rebuilt all 4 calipers and flushed everything good. Replaced the pads and rotors all the way around as I was doing a knuckle job up front anyways and wanted to adjust my parking brake, so it all worked out. Next is the more controversial. I removed all the ABS stuff and deleted the LSPV. It's definitely not for everyone, but it's been great for me
