Hi Matt, looking great of course. I have a similar bumper on mine, except I used 2x3x1/4 square tube. I used two bolts on each bracket at the frame because when I wheel the sucker, the long overhang always hangs up on things and with only one bolt the bumper can come up and hit the box.

You are going to wheel it arn't you? :D

Don't know if you saw this or not but it might be your only chance at rare lv parts.

matt, if you can wait that long I will definitely be back to the woods lv this summer. if you can wait that long I will cut the door handles off with a hacksaw. the door jamb stops will come too although i will have to drill them out.

eta is august.

it'll probably still be faster than shipping from chile ;)

2 hours on the lpb today, nothing major.

Used a piece of left over 3/8" flat stock and made a plate to bolt to the back of the frame the 4 stock holes. Measured up and cut the receiver tube to slide in and hit the back of that plate, lined everything up and tacked it together pretty hard with my 110v welder. Took the bumper off and brought it into work where I poured the coals to it with the big miller welder. I think my 110 would have been fine, but I know the Miller penetrated hard.

Few pics of the finished product, set it back up there for a pic. Have a couple things to clean up, but hoping to blast it tomorrow and possibly get it into paint.

Hi Simon,

Yes, I am counting on you to get the remaining handles off that lv.....figured i would complete the set since they have all come from that one ;)

Wife is getting a little tired of the vice grips on the inside :D

Thanks, Matt

How many Longs do you think he could carry in the back? ;)

A sporatic 2 hours tonight on the lpb.

Got home and fired up the sandblaster and went over the front bumper, rear bumper and brackets. No rust but just wanted to make sure I had a uniform surface and the steel was etched up nice for the primer to bond to. After that I shot 2 coats of DP90LF....mowed the lawn and then cleared the primer with DCU2021. Looks like a million bucks! Neighbor also through in his fuel tank off his 40 Ford project, pics of his junk also.

Going to try to get the front and rear bumper on by Friday and then hit more misc. crap this weekend.

Yup.....

About and hour tonight on the lpb. Had some other duties that required my attention this evening, mainly getting the riding lawn mower all tuned up for the wife.

Fired up the lathe and tuned down 8 Stainless steel carriage bolts for the rear bumper. These will be the 8 bolts that go into the rear bumper and face the back. Just want them to be round and flush with the bumper, did the same thing on the lv. Also installed all the plastic hardware in both doors for the interior panels and door hardware, not much to that.

Going to get both bumpers on tomorrow night and probably the door panels. Maybe get started on the rear wiring harness, needs a little tlc.

Got about 10 hours on the lpb today.

Planned on working on it Friday night, but that didn't work out so I had to push all that into Saturday. Pretty much started off the day getting my bumper installed. That didn't take to long, but at least it was done. Then I installed my inner panels along with pulls and other misc. handles. Moved onto the rear wiring harness. It was in semi-crappy shape in the rear do to PO's attempt at trailer lights and first aid medical tape???.....extremely crude. Cut all the chub out and butt spliced, soldered and shrinkwrapped everything up. Then I re-wrapped the entire harness...sorry no pics. Needless to say, that took a while. After everything was done, installed and every light worked perfect!!

Lots of other misc. things that I am having a tough time thinking of, and no pics. Just kinda all over the place finishing up lots of little things. I drove it out in the yard and washed it down with a sponge to get a lot of the polishing compound residue off...took a few glamour shots of that.

Going to try to get working on the headlight bezel tomorrow, that's pretty much one of the few things I have left to do. Might try to get a little time on the lv tomorrow and get those springs swapped.
