Were the tailgate clasps original or replacements-if replacements where'd ya source them?

Clasps were original. I had another set on the other box I bought, but my neighbor has now incorporated them into his 40 Ford pick up project.

I think he's just trying to get it up to Toyota's standards ;)

Gotta like anyone that buys lacquer thinner in the handy 5 gallon can!

Seriously, I've got stuff to do up in the shop today (like beat out some old spring hangers), and yet I think I just wasted 4+ hours reading every page here.

On the big trucks I tend to get on a tear and work real fast, but NOTHING like you're able to do Matt. And your work looks fantastic.

Awesome. That is all.

2 hours on the lpb tonight.

Nothing spectacular, but wanted to get a few things done. I made sure I got my seats back in with my stereo mounted underneath the seat. Pics pretty much say it all, took a few photos underneath there. It looks tight, and it is, but the seat moves back and forth and you can get the jack out. And...I get to keep my cheesy AM radio in the dash and still have the MP3 player hooked up to a little cord and great sound if I want.

Had the wife come out and give me a hand getting the tailgate back on for good. Went back on the same way a few days ago, adjusted the latches...fits like a glove. Picked up some 8" x 3/8" flat stock today, also a reciever tube with the chain ring. I got a piece of 1/4" sheet steel bent like the front yesterday. So, whenever I'm ready..I have the material to fab up a rear bumper. Going to be very, very similar to the lv bumper. Not going to close off and radius the ends, leave it open with the mitered end, like the front.

Took a few glamour shots out in the driveway just for fun...

On another note, does anyone know if Toyota (or anyone else) sells the plastic and nylon inserts that go in the door? The plastic ones that insert in for the inner panel to snap into, and the square nylon ones that the handle's thread into?

Thanks, Matt

Matt, looks like sor sells these parts. Items 126-70, 126-71, and 126-29. At more than a buck apiece and knowing their shipping and handling charges, it should cost about 75 bucks to get a few pieces of plastic to your door. :frown:

On a brighter note, the 45 is looking amazing! Would love to see it in person.

Matt, you need any decals for this one? I have a decal for the jack that is way cool plus my others.

I still have not picked up my totes of parts that have been plated with your stuff. Arg!!!!!!!!!

I think that MILLHOUSE wants to come up there with me...I think that we are both going to drag our junk up there as well...

Your Toyota's might not be alone this year... :)
