Any thoughts on how high to make the shelves?
Right now I have the lower opening an inch taller than the upper.

Need to think about what you're storing in there.

Good point, I did not explain that. Plan is to have all cooking related stuff in there. Pots and pans and plates, cups along with some foodstuffs. My pots all fit with no issues at this height.

Thinking about making a divider system out of some cutting board material, so you can keep things from moving too much tonight. Will post up pics.

Just an idea... could you make it adjustable with some type of bolting to system so you have flexibility for the future? Like small shelves up the whole side that are pre drilled and you could bolt in the shelf at the desired location??

I think that I'd have a look at Boy Scout Camp Kitchens online, specifically how they might secure the cookware from rattling. Partly from the noise perspective, but more from the not beating it up from going down a rough road perspective. I've had to prematurely retire/recycle camp cookware because of it getting beat-up in transport.
We now use this in our camper: MAGMA Ten-Piece Stainless-Steel Nesting Cookware Set | West Marine which helps a lot, but my solo camping cookware is much less developed.

Trying not to have any bolts through to the exterior, to limit water penetration, so was going to tack weld it on for the first couple trips and can cut and move it if needed.

I am a long time boy scout, so can talk to that point... you buy junk stuff and replace it or cast iron and forget about it. I have seen several of these side boxes that have carpet inside of them for noise/abuse. Will likely go that route too.

I have a feeling there will be lots of plastic storage boxes organizing stuff.

Sorry was thinking of bolting through the bottom of the tray to like this...so still adjustable.

I was just thinking that one of the things that I like to do is to put a trailer light receptacle in the tongue. Then can unplug the light jumper and stow it out of the weather when the trailer is parked. Can also have different jumpers for different TR receptacles.

Any lights yet?
Nope. Got the battery last night, then started working on GPX files for the trip and got distracted. Will start tonight on the final list.... less than 48 hours and we will be on the road.

I should have everything packed tonight. If you need help buttoning it up Wednesday let me know.

Working on the to do list.... first off, got the hitch system all put together

Trail tested and road tested. We ran the trailer speeds up to 65 mph on I 70 from Moab to the start of the Kokapelli trail, then ran it for two days on the Kokapelli and even up to the top of the world, not using the bypass trails. For anyone that has been there before, you understand we beat the living snot out of his trailer and it survived, First pic is ....Pulled it out of the shop drove around the block and then started loading it full of stuff

Looking and learning about solar power options.

Looking at a fixed panel instead of foldable, as I think I have room to store it easily

So need a panel.. 100 watt Renogy...

Amazon product ASIN B009Z6CW7O
then for controller, I read many good reviews of the Victron with bluetooth ability.

Amazon product ASIN B075NQQRPD
Thoughts?
