Could I tow a jeep 2 door wrangler with my 100 series LX470? Will use the TOAD flat towing unit that is for towing the Jeep not on a car carrier so not extra added weight to tow. Jeep weighs about 3105 per. the owners manual. Looking at buying an old Wrangler to tow behind our motor home, could I use the LX470 to tow thew jeep for now. Buying the motorhome in the summer. so this will be a one time deal. I see by the owners manual tow capacity is 6,500, so should be fine. After reading some threads on this question, I'm more confused. My Jeep is set up for towing behind an RV, so with the flat towing equipment, I thought I could easily pull the Jeep, is that the case?

Stopping is always the problem, never is it having enough power to pull it.

It is crucial that your tow-bar be flat when everything is connected. If the TR end is low then under braking the Jeep will want to climb over the top of it and end up in your back seat. The TR end is high then the Jeep will try to lift the rear of the TR, making stopping and panic stopping in particular, a very dicey thing.

Put it on a U-haul trailer for your one time tow.

Some States require functioning brakes on towed vehicles over some particular weight. May need a Brake Buddy or similar if you flat tow and are over that weight limit.

I know I’m a bit late but. We towed our 1993 YJ with our 100 series and it didn’t even grunt even when pulling 15% grade hill. YJ is a lot lighter than newer jeeps but it seemed to handle good

THANKS all for the input, with the feedback I decided to drive the 100 series back and will drive the Jeep back.
