Hello Lads,

Odd request: Does anyone have a 2F they would be willing to lend to me for a few weeks while I get mine rebuilt? I need to keep my block just in case (in the very unfortunate - and hopefully unlikely - eventuality) we move back to Australia. I have to have the same engine No. or else I will have to get an Engineer's certificate in order to get her registered there again.

I would like to swap yours in, get mine machined, ported, polished, blue-printed, etc. and then stick mine back in. I would take very good care of your lump while it was in my care and return it with fresh oil and a case of good Santa Fe Brewery beer.

Sounds like a lot of effort to keep the LX on the road for a few weeks. Is that the only set of wheels you have access to?

Where is Paul on his transplant?

I didn't see the old boat anchor in his garage so it may already be gone. I'll send him a text.

No. I have an old dodge ram too. I just prefer driving the cruiser :-)

My 2F was pretty picked over by the time I finally sent it to its final resting place.

Sorry I can't be of help.

No dramas. Probably smarter to just do the engine and try to finish it quickly....assuming Liam and Emma grant me the time.

That's why I want the other engine....I can see this taking months.

While you are at it, consider a 3FE top end. I hear thats what all the cool kids are doing

And didn't somebody say there is a donor at the U-Pull?

Josh:

I might know of a 2F that you could pick up for a decent price.

Give me a call when you are done with the snow run tomorrow and I'll tell you more. If the rest of the truck it came from is any indication, it's in GREAT shape.

That's what I'd love to do but I've accepted the fact that I just don't have the time.

Thanks Barry and Dan. I'm now all sorted...better sorted than I could have hoped in fact!

I could tell you but then I'd have to kill you. Sorry.
