Hello All,

Wilbur, my '73 FJ55 has a non-original 2F engine. Serial Number is 2F 887544, Block is stamped 11411-61014 on the driver's side. I've searched many posts here but have not found anything close to the 2F 887544 number. Can anyone give me some insight on the manufacture date of this 2F? TIA for any help.

Thanks,
Dave

Guessing late 1986 based on this thread. Means it came out of an FJ60

11411-61014 is the block part number, just in case that wasn't obvious.

I was seriously considering doing a performance (if that word on be used) build on a later FJ60 2F for those reasons.
Yeah I have done zero research on a “performance” built 2F…thinking just do LS if it needs moar.

The combination I’m recalling from memory (~20 years ago) was a late 70’s block, rotating assembly from a flat-top piston version of the FJ60 2F, and possibly the head off a 3F (can’t remember why, maybe something to do with fuel injection?). This was supposed to be some ultimate 2F formula. I wanted 300 hp and it would be achievable, but it sounded like a lot of headache, and there were no more machine shops in my area to help experiment.
Imagine having to run 91 octane all the time in something that “almost makes” 300 hp (🙄)

My tune on my pig is for 91. I am probably at 300-315. It was a stock LM7 but put bigger injectors to satisfy the later ECM.

I dont know. The specs online say a 2003 LM7 does 285 hp. Not sure if that is crank or wheel. Since I have a late 03 block and 04 ECM I had to put a few things in that they upgraded from Gen3 to Gen4. The Gen4 5.3 is rated at 310. I like to the think Pig power puts another 5 hps in there. Who knows?

Makes sense Thanks. Just looking for all the info I can get. Wilbur is going to be a beach truck on Padre Island, nothing too strenuous. Yes I knew about the block number.

Not sure how accurate this is. I did this research a few years ago because I bought power steering parts, a 60 pump and gear to install on my pig. I was surprised when I already had the threaded bores in the factory pump bracket location. I checked the serial number 2F 881675 and the block/head codes 11411-61104/61040 and determined 1986 somehow.
