Yes it is, but the burnt on is a WB panelvan (1982ish) I think Max had a HJ or HZ P'van,(1976-8ish)

sorry Mat for the hijack

NO apology necessary when it comes to MAX

Don't know if this helps you, but back when I was looking at building my 87 Supra Turbo, one trick everyone used was early Lexus V8 Injectors.
Fit perfect and had a lot more flow.

I have no idea how either relate to the 3FE, but it might be worth a look?

(Also swapping in the V8 air flow sensor gave a lower reading for a given amount of airflow. The whole system when tweaked a bit with fuel pressure and bypassed airflow would trick the factory computer into running withing it's mapping :D)

I am sorry to all for being so far behind in my reading, but I had to quote this so I can come back to it if need be...

A: Brake booster is fed from a port on the rear side of the plenum. There are two ports back there. The booster hose comes off the larger.

A: The port at the base of the cold start is for the PCV. It runs from the PCV to a rubber hose, to a steel hose, into another rubber hose, into that port.

A: It travels from the VSV on the fender, into a tangle of steel lines, to the regulator. Since I desmoged I dumped the tangle of steel lines and routed directly from the two-way port on the left side of the plenum.

Two pics attached. One showing the booster hose and the PCV routing. The second showing how I dealt with the fuel pressure regulator.

I would just hook it up. Looking at the documentation it appears it might not matter since it helps with warm starts. See attachment.

Pappy,

What happened to these resources?

I'd be interested if you can get them live again...

The intercooler is away been welded up once it's back it will be pressure tested on the coolant side, before the final outer skin is welded up to seal the air box.

The ends caps with the water feeds are also almost ready for the intercooler cores, just need to drill and tap the end plates for fitting once it's back from the welders

What happened to your pictures?

Found out today the the Wolf V500 only need one timing mark from the dizzy for TDC No1. The dizzy currently has 2, one for TDC No1 and TDC No6.

One will be machined off, so between the one left and the 24 toothed gear underneath all is good.

Also picked up the air and water temp sensors today too.

100_2393.jpg

I hope you will be showing where these mount, as I am stuggling with a 3FE and not sure where the air temp sensor mounts???

The new ECU Wolf V500 will not require the cold start injector or the old fuel pressure regulator as it getting a new one, doing away with the VSV valve as well. All making the new EFI system far simpler with as far as I can see now not one single original vacuum hose:bounce:. The cold start timer switch will also be obsolete. One of the joys of been pre emissions here.

Their will be one air temp sensor in the 80mm out of the intercooler, one water temp sensor for the ECU in the thermostat housing and one temp sensor for the instrument gauge also in the thermostat housing.

Well there goes any hope that I can figure out my 3FE conversion by reading this thread!!!

Sounds like you did away with most of the factory sensors...

I am confident that I will still learn by reading your build though!

Air Temp sensor is here on the feed from the intercooler.

All up there are 4 sensors, air temp, water temp ECU, water temp Gauge and Throttle position sensor (Factory) not including the Dizzy.

Water temp sensor and sender are here one for the ECU and one for the factory gauge.

Thank you Matt - where did the air temp sensor mount on the factory 3FE location?

The stock 3FE has the air temp sensor as part of the air flow meter I think, again some thing I did away with in favor of a MAP sensor.

My stand alone Wolf V500 makes the engine management system very simple even with moving from batch firing the injectors to sequential something that was important for us at comp when it comes to fault finding.

No vacuum lines left from the old system all completely removed my 2F ETI is actually very trail friendly for limping home with faults too.

Just a note, that is a 3FE thermostat housing bottom with a late post 2F 1980 top. The stock 3FE top had for me too many holes in it for sensors for the 3FE ECU

Clean sheared 30 a spline Bobby long Chromolly axle this weekend

Wow, how?

Actually my Navi is responsible at Vic winch 08 I got stuck and had to winch here this year my Navi drove it and still managed to claw his way to the top to the finish line.

He actual drove that section without getting air but just a little further he snapped the left front, I like the rule you broke it you bought it :D

Wow, how?

I am just so skilled LOL

My navi made the comment at the start of the weekend "what happens when you let 2 nissan drivers into a 40 series with 180kW?"

Well, it seems we know now.

Carnage report.

1 X long side rear axle
1 X Longfield 30 spline long side axle (and the CV doesn't feel too good either)
1 X standard long side CV
1 X 4.6 rear pinion shaft
Brand new strengthened front tail shaft dinted and scraped (oh, I forgot to tell you about that, matt lol)

soooooo yeah. Not a great weekend for my bank account, but an absolute BLAST to drive this car in comp!!!!!!!!!!!

Bloody hard to keep off boost though LOL

Huge thanks to matt for letting me into the driver seat with my choice of navi (actually, the first navi I could get at such late notice, but all went well with him)

Driving Matt's 40 in comp makes you feel like this (first night stages) -

The engine had I think it's hardest work out to date, Marin really did drive well, hard but not over the top stupid. He is certainly quicker than me or it seems so when your watching.

The rev limiter on the ECU had a work out thats for sure :D

The mud run with a broken rear axle was just  I only just made it last year wit hall 4 working. The next competitor with all 4 working DNF'd on time but it was a Nissan :D

Hey dude. I was trying to show my friend your intercooler build-up and all the pics have broken links now. Anyway you can post the pics again someplace else?

I had issues with photobucket.

This may help but you will need to register but outer's is not a bad site.

These are different links too though they look the same.

SNIP

I did have some issues changing into 3rd gear, I had trouble finding it sometimes and was losing time changing so if it was just a short squirt and I only wanted 3rd for 1 or 2 seconds, I was leaving it 2nd gear instead.

So once I fix it, when are you going to navi for me in it?

I'll upload some photo's when I can, also have some vids, but they are only off the still camera.

OUCH!
Go Marin!:steer::D

Lookin forward to the pics and Vids.

Matt, I'll have to come around for a beverage sometime soon. We've just done the whole house move thing and finally got the net back on. Never want to move again. Living out in Preston now:eek:
Actually, it is pretty good. Big garden, big house, lock-up workshop/garage to keep the tools dry.

Catch ya soon- and whens the beast gonna be back on the road;p
Hans.

We were never off the road :D we just have a few minor repairs :crybaby:

As for me as a Navi NUP I'm a toooooooo OLD for that kind of stress :D

Oh and BJ your always welcome you have great taste in beer, come for dinner one evening you and your better half

Sweet, sounds good.
I'll try to book in the better half, but that might take a while:rolleyes: She's a busy girl at the moment and at times I have to pre-book weeks in advance just for a cuppa tea in the mornings:hillbilly:

Anyway, I'll give you a call sometime. Any particular days off that are better than others? My schedule is as open as the girls is closed at the moment (not much work on.... changing careers)

btw. I like your definition of minor repairs. LOL.
