Autolite

I had two spark plugs that were bad in the #2 and #3 cylinders.

The top picture is what they should look like. This is the way they look when they are cold. When the heat up to operating temperature the insulation cone around the electrode is able to slide down to the ground strap. This is the bottom picture. The nose cones stay loose until the spark plug cools off and then they get tight again.

I knew Autolite were not the best plug but this is a first for me on any spark plug.


I installed 4 Platinum's gaped at .032 in the motor and drove it about 100miles today.

No problems.

Yeah I thought it was odd as heck. Early on I swapped the spark plugs between the #2 and #3 cylinder just to eliminate the plugs.



Huda thunk they were both bad.
