I really don't understand giving people the option to upgrade the Tacoma from a 4cylinder to a 6 cylinder for 500 bucks, and not do so in the LC.
Thats not going to drive me to the GX, that's going to drive me into something elses.
Lets say that a locked LC maxes at 55k. In order to get the larger engine, i would have to step up into the GX at around for the base "Premium" of 65k, and its not even going to have lockers, or crawl control. I would have to upgrade into the Overtrain which will probably breach 70k.
Feel same way int the 200. The 100 is not this way, low hood and has superior visibility All around. Also the doors shut like a bank vault as opposed to the tinny truck cab feeling of the 200. The 200 just drives too big for its size.
I don't find either to be the case about the 200. The doors are tuned to sound solid when closed and, IMO, it drives smaller than its size. Visibility is quite good.

I personally don't have any issue with the door sound of the 200. My 2014 LX doors shut like a bank vault
Better than the LC 300 door sound to me anyway. Aluminium doors on the 300 probably play a role in this.
(Cant compare with LX 600 - don't have one around)
But like you I didn't have an issue with driving the LC200/LX 570 but after driving the LC300 basically it feels like getting into a sedan dynamics wise lol.
They definitely improved that in comparison with the 200 which to me now feels like a whale in comparison.
Since the 250 is pretty much the same platform (I assume it'll be the same case)

You need to drive a 100 if you haven’t already. I have both and just my opinion, but visibility (lower greenhouse windows and lower flat hood) are noticeable. Doors shut like an old Mercedes. 200 is solid, but not as much in those areas - JMO.

The issue with the 200’s visibility is one that is common across all large SUV’s and trucks. Yes you sit up high and can see everything far and wide but anything up close and directly in front of you is blocked due to the height and length of the hood.

The one thing I miss from my recent courtesy NX was the quality of the camera compared to my 2013 tech. I sure as heck won't miss that start stop garbage. Makes me want to never buy a modern car.
My wife’s C-class has stop start. I believe that it can be turned off, but I haven’t found the desire to figure out how — I’ve found it to be unobtrusive.

Maybe Mercedes is better, but on Lexus 1. the AC dips down every time it activates and 2. there is about a half second lag leaving the stop light while the engine comes back on. It also kind of sputters like the engine is going to stall.
I did not have it long enough to figure out how to turn it off. The best I accomplished was getting it so if you did not press the brake too hard it would not come on.
Same issue of intrusion in a BMW, Mercedes, Ford and many other start stop vehicles. I have not driven one which is smooth and quick enough. Only hybrids switching between the ICE and electromotor is semi decent.
With start stop you are increasing engine and starter wear significantly. By the way, one of several fundamental issues with hybrids. Somebody planning to drive 200k miles + should avoid this imo.
Whoever pushed for start/stop is not an engineer but trying to meet some fuel consumption government goal. Like using the sub standard 0W/20 or 0W/16 motor oil, instead of 0W/30 or 5W/30.
Happy my LC200 gets a steady 12MPG in the city and my BMW 535d has the start/stop feature programmed out via ISTA+
Toyota is happy to report the new Land Cruiser is enjoying impressively strong early demand as the backlog already extends to more than 12 months.

"If you're wondering how much the LC300 costs, the all-new SUV retails for 5,100,000 yen (about $46,500) in Japan for the base gasoline-fueled model and rises to 8,000,000 yen ($73,000) for the diesel engine in the GR Sport trim."

There's no 3 door Prado. But the Prado does go down market below the 4r. And up market. They're the same thing though just dressed up in different ways. They share almost all parts other than body and trim. Prado has 4 engines from 2.7 4cyl to 4.0 (or 4.6 in GX form), 4r only has the 4.0 since MY11. Chassis are very similar, but the 4R has a different frame in the rear - different cross member (fits bigger spare tire). At the end of the day, they cost the same because they are the same.

Where is the $35k Prado? You got the 5 doors but you still have the 164 bhp engine. Also, it appears to cost around $56k . So I am still not seeing much evidence that the LC250 is overpriced at $60k vis a vis ALL the other markets.
You did prove Toyota is really ripping people off in Peru for 4Runners.
Edit: I did more digging and it turns out the Automatic, 4.0 V-6 Prado is $70,000 USD. So about $10k more than the 4Runner and still not $35k.

That's an example of 4R costing more. I'm sure I can find more. It's common. They're usually very close when comparably equipped. Because they're the same thing no matter how much of the emperor's clothes are piled in the back.
I'm not aware of a current $35k 4runner or Prado. I don't think I ever said they were. Although id guess a 2.7 Prado is about that much somewhere. The cheapest 4x4 4runner I know of is about $41k.

While this is true, SET and GST don't have their hands in the Lexus invoices and accessories like they do with the Toyotas. They simply arrange transport from the port to the dealers, often alongside Toyotas going to dealers in the same areas.
