Hey everyone,
I took a bit of a different path with my 2021 HE LC. I wanted to share my experience on this project.
For reference, here is my prior build a 2011 GX460. https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/my-2011-gx460-build-stay-classy-sd.1252246/#post-13848257
I loved my prior GX. By the time I sold her she had the perfect combination of capability and comfort. I have been trying to replicate that with the LC200 but it has been difficult. The hardest part was finding the right LT tire for the vehicle (ALL LT TIRES IN 18 ARE E LOAD - Too stiff and heavy for me). The stock 18 inch rims are very limited on tire variety (compared to 17 inch rims - Lots of C load options). The wheels (BBS) are beautiful - but ultimately they had to come off. I was not willing to get Chinese manufactured wheels and the rock warriors aren't my style. I settled on obtaining other LC200 wheels made in Japan.
Wheels - 42611-60C80 Caps - 4260B-60370 (not available in USA catalog - however alternative MEX SPEC 17 inch LC200 wheels are 4261160641)
These wheels would not fit on the 2021 HE due to the size of the brakes without spacers. I was not willing to have spacers on the car because they created numerous clearance issues. However, I was able to determine that smaller brake calipers/rotors could be purchased through the USA Toyota Parts website.
MEX SPEC BRAKE PARTS
Caliper (RIGHT) 4773060340
Caliper (LEFT) 4775060340
Dust Shield (RIGHT) 4770360090
Dust Shield (LEFT) 4770460090
ROTOR 4351260180 x2
These brakes are just slightly smaller overall. They are standard on the LC 200 models overseas. Bolt on without modification. Picture below of the 17 inch wheel without spacers installed with smaller front brakes. Tires are the 285/70/17 BFG KO2 C LOAD (stock for Jeep Wrangler). No rubbing on anything (after new UCAs) - no wheel well modification
Here is how the tire size compares to stock - including additional side wall.
Additional modifications -
Suspension - 2 inch lift with OME BP51. Rear spring Medium duty (2inch lift around). Built Right UCA for better clearance with the larger tires (some rubbing on stock UCA at full lock).
Range - LRA 40 Gallon AUX tank. Has worked well. Some gas smell I detailed in prior posts remains - but not causing error codes.
Steps - added for the kids. Will probably get sliders eventually.
