Lookin good!

Where about in WA are you located? Forgot if I asked that before. We are lookin to move north of Coeur d’Alene ID.
On a small island in the Puget Sound, Camano Island. The Panhandle of Idaho is beautiful better hurry prices are climbing over there, people escaping Seattle.

More progress on the LFD rear bumper. Trimmed up the plastic factory cover and the bumper itself. LFD made me aware that I would lose my lower taillights or have to trim the bumper. I chose to cut the bumper back. Much more than a trim but that’s what I wanted.

I have a bit more to file on the plastic but the bumper is off to powder coating.

Bumper cover cut is complete, trim and lights reinstalled and edge guard trim installed. The bumper is off to Superior Powder Coating in Arlington WA. If you live in the North end of Puget Sound I highly recommend these guys.

What color are you going with? Or will be it a surprise after you get it all bolted up.

Black, unfortunately since parts came in piece meal over the year. The plan down the road in 3-4 years once the black gets beat up I’ll do a complete color change.

Quick mid week mod. Installed the Kaon shelf. Integrated well with my Raigler cargo net. Jacket, hat, blanket storage and kitchen storage over the fridge/kitchen area.

I put some acorn cap nuts on the bolt threads to finish it out.

isn't this designed to fit the 460? why did you have to trim the bumper to accomodate the lower taillights?

Well that is what I thought as well. It was built off a 2010-2013, I had seen another person having issues with another brand 2014+ GX on social media and sent the information to LFD the manufacturer. They bought a 2014+ rear bumper cover and stated it would work but would I lose the lower lights, meaning they wouldn't fit or I could "trim" the bumper to accommodate the lights. I chose to "trim" the bumper. It was a pretty healthy cut. I will be sending LFD a template of the cut, not sure if they will be using it.

For the average person I think they would be highly upset with this revolation on there expensive rear bumper. For me LFD was very up front with me and I chose to live with it. I'm a aviation professional for 35+ years and this is a minor issue to me. Standby for the final results. If LFD gets enough input or email from potential customers then perhaps they will make it part of the manufacturing process.

I had wondered about that after I saw the original photos of the bumper on their site sitting on a 2010-13 and knowing that you have a 2014+. For most it would be an issue for sure but it sounds like you knew what you were getting into and are ok with the necessary modifications to adapt it to your truck. Looking forward to seeing the final product but I doubt that it's the bumper for me.

If they don't correct that issue, I don't think it'll be the bumper for most. I have learned if you can get a part in bare metal and save money do so and I have found there is always something that requires a modification.

In other progress notes, rear bumper back up lights wired up to a relay energized off the vehicle back up light circuit drawing power from my last available circuit on my Blueseas fuse block in the aft storage cubby.

With all the hole perforations on those plates, it looks like there are many configurations available for mounting stuff!

Project complete, well almost. Still need to mount the license plate and Hi Lift Jack mount.

Pretty easy installation, removed 80 lbs of factory parts and the new bumper is 220 lbs. Net gain of 140 lbs.
