Nice truck! What front springs did you go with? I'm thinking of a Dobinson's lift soon and have a CBI bumper to install. I read on Clublexus that some people had problems with the CBI bumper rubbing the AC line. Have you had any problems?

I went with the 3 way adjustable with heavy load rating for front and back (i tow a travel trailer) 2 inch front and 2.5 inch rear to keep factory rake.
I still had rear sagging when the trailer was attached ao i also added the airlift 1000 to the rear and that helps with stability when towing.

see photos of AC line during intial install. its tight and was more a concern for the winch install, but all items cleared and no issues after 10 months.

finally added way to carry a full sized spare. Went with 6monkeys swing out tire carrier with farm jack mount, they shipped it out in less than a week.

Don't think i'll tow with this (3500 lbs trailer), but it has a hitch receiver

It works well and is sturdy with hitch stabilizer, blocks the back up camera and parking sensors are grumpy.

I added a yakry camera to fix the backup camera, also provides full time rear view, got power from the tire carrier's license plate light.

rear glass and barn door open fully

but its tight with the farm jack (optional)

The carrier is dirty from testing it off road at local OHV park

Future plans: purchased a parking sensor from ebay and working on 3d print holder and some quick connect system to bypass the one blocked parking sensor.
Maybe move the rear camera?

Now with the tire swing and spare out decided to add the Universal 6 Gallon "Spare" Tank (2-Pack) | Trail'd - https://www.trailedonline.com/product-page/4runner-and-tacoma-6-gallon-spare-tank-2-pack

Trail'ed spare gas tanks under the GX went with 2 6 gallon spares fits tiddy but will take more time and effort then roof or side rear mounted jerry cans.

I’m curious how those Trail’d tanks are working for you?
Seriously thinking about 1 under my 470. Any leaks or issues?

So far no issues, filled them up awhile ago and after a few months of use including some off roading no leaks or noises

I have yet to drop and refuel with them.

One point of caution, that I hope I do not have to experience, is that while towing it may be difficult to open the rear hatch enough to access the spare tire drop mechanism.

Well update to the traild fuel carrier, they warped due to the summer heat and started to leak 😓

currently have them off the GX and only have 1 good one left. Great idea but probably cant handle being under the car in hot temperatures.

CBI stealth bumper update.

Last week the AC in the GX went bad which had me concerned that the rigid AC line near the bumper had been damaged.

Upon inspection it was the Badlands 12000 wench that was the culprit, it rubbed against the AC line and caused the leak.

I used a clamp and spin style pipe cutter to splice out the defective area and added an 8mm pressure coupler

Had to take off the front bumper to get the area and get a wrench in for tightening.

Also great opportunity to clean mud fron behind the bumper. (picture taken before cleaning)

After recharging the AC line and a successful weekend trip towing the trailer happy to report AC is blowing cold again.

Love the little GXOR arm pad. Is that knit? Pretty cool! I wanted to get a welcome mat made for the trailer out of jute with GXOR on it haha

Thank you i really enjoy it.

Its a rug making style called Punch needle the wife (to my benefit) is really into it. I gave her the GXOR logo and she designed the rest😀

Honestly its the one mod i always appreciate when my elbow rest on the center glovebox.

Finally did some wrenching on the GX today (still going strong 2017 with 56k miles)

Last year I was towing and got a transmission temp high warning while doing low speed off road.

I installed the Hayden 676 cooler which fit really well. Didn’t have enough space for a bigger one but it’s pretty much the same size as the factory Lexus cooler
First photo is test fit second is with everything back in place.

Install wasn’t to bad but dropping the CBI front skid was a bit of pain. Also with the Adaptive Cruise the space in the front bumper is tight. I ended up not taking off the front bumper which I guess is a plus of the smaller cooler

Was able to keep the horns in the same spot just tilted to keep away from the cooler

So far no leaks but since I got a quart of the Lexus ATF WS I may do a partial transmission fluid fill just to make sure it didn’t loose to much during the process.

Going to respray the front skid before I put it back on and fluid film since I have the exposure (next weekend)
