Oh SOB... just ripped my rear passenger seat belt out. All rusted out. Guess I have some body work to do. This rig is turning into trail beater sooner than later.

Sorry.. That happened to FOO there also. I tacked a thick piece of stainless there, much bigger than the hole.

I have been staining and polyurethane the rear storage area in the wee hours of the morning

Basic maintenance and simple stuff over the last couple months. Put my TEQ badges on, took the running boards off, added front mudflaps, and exchanged the AHC fluid.

Then we went to Colorado to climb some 14ers. Of course in between we had to get a few driving trails in as well.

This was the top of Tincup pass on the continental divide. Unfortunately the west side was closed on down into Tincup so we had to turn around.

This was me taking a picture of Rosey taking a picture of the awesome view. The Aspens had just started to turn. This was about a mile from the end of the driveable trail up Mt Antero. You can see the switchbacks to the right that we came up to get to this point.

Coming back down from Mt Antero.

Turns out the new u-joint and rear pinion seal fixed my issues. Welding a new bracket on front axle for my swaybar tomorrow, and she should be road trip worthy. See you at Tuttle!

This time of year is great for media blasting and laying down epoxy primer. Finally starting to fit this thing back together with all clean, rust-free panels and new hardware/trim.

The LX450 is a solid vehicle and has performed very well off-road. There were a couple of minor annoyances that really took the pleasure out of highway driving, so I jumped on them today.
Passenger front door whistles at highway speed and door ajar light comes on at times- adjusted the catch to pull it in tighter at the bottom=fixed.
Hood lifts a little at speed- adjusted hood latch and rubber bumpers under hood=fixed.
Shaky mirror on driver side-fixed with double-sided tape since only one tab was broken.
Finally, replaced distributor O-ring in hopes of stopping oil leak--failed. I still have a leak that upon further inspection appears to be coming from under the plastic pieces on top of the valve cover.
Ideas? Suggestions?

Spark plug tube gaskets? I had that problem around the beginning of the year. Mine leaked real bad though. One of those fix it before you drive it anymore problems.

See the first post in this thread.

The gaskets ride on the 6 tubes for the spark plugs and butt up to the valve cover. Not a hard fix, was just time consuming getting the valve cover off (and powder coating the cover).

Must be the spark plug tube gaskets. The leak is pretty bad, I thought at first it was coming from around the oil filter so I pulled that off and replaced it. Then the distributor O-ring since that's such a common site for leaks.

@1MAC If you want to pretty up things without much downtime, I have an extra valve cover that has been passed around a few times. Basicallly the deal is you take my extra cover, clean it up, powdercoat or paint it up and then swap it onto your rig and send me back your old one.

Did the spark plug tube seals today, complete with new PCV valve, grommet and hose as well as the valve cover gasket. Two of the seals stayed on the tubes when I pulled the valve cover-# 1 and 2. Leak looked like it was coming from around #1. Slowest part was pulling the other four seals out and cleaning the inside of the valve cover. Thanks to Malcom for the idea of removing the air cleaner. Made it much easier to sit in the engine compartment and work on everything.
