Silly electronics?

Ah yes, KDSS, ATRAC, AHC, Electronic locking diffs, Crawl Control, Cool Box, cameras, blind spot monitoring, LEDs, and all the like were all wasteful, wishful thinking. Silly Toyota...

And Toyota has kept a simple, reasonable, and rugged 4x4, its called the 70 series.

IIRC....During 1980's, there was a maximum import quota (law) of 6000 Land Cruisers that Toyota could sell in the USA per year due to USA protectionism and paranoia. It had something to do with a vehicle having 4 doors with 4 wheel drive.
That law expired sometime around when the 80 series came out in the USA, and when 1992 rolled around, the 4.5L 1FZ-FE was ready....and the floodgates opened.
The numbers below tell the story...

I'm talking worldwide figures not only the US. I doubt the 80 was selling over 120k a year excluding LX. Don't forget the Sequoia also affected LC sales in the US.

Care to elaborate or were you planning to just tease us?!

Tease for now. I wish I could say more and I'm hoping to be more specific soon. :D

Kurt, I feel like I am in the presence of a celebrity, after watching the latest Expedition Overland video. :D

I'm glad you enjoyed them :D

It was an absolutely amazing experience and I felt right at home with the XO team. Clay and I traveled quite extensively with the Expeditions7 journey, so I knew he and I could spent 48 hours in a rig together.

I certainly did, and am really Looking forward to watching the rest.

This thread is almost dead. I can not believe, with Toyota taking orders in 4 weeks, that there has been no solid info released yet.

Hopefully, we will know a little bit more about the LC 300!

My extended service and warranty runs out in October on my x5. It would be nice to have some confirmed info...

Is the 8 speed a possibility?

Dual screen rear ent for LC?

New color options? Interior colors?

Safety features?

Same drive train. Trim upgrade... solid as it gets :D

Consider it the "late model" 200. Sorta like the 98-02 versus 03-07 100 Series.

LX is getting the 8 speed for sure. I've been told the LC will also get the 8 speed but i have not seen official documents that prove that yet.

Can you create a fake account like Pagemaster3 and post details??? No one will know it's you.

The screens in the LX are outdated and irrelevant now. These items need to be true options and not just stuck into every vehicle that comes to the U.S. market.

It's ridiculous that Toyota/Lexus doesn't allow the useless rear entertainment system option to be excluded. How about a simple tablet pocket in the back of the front seats with USB charging nearby? They'd undoubtedly save themselves a lot of engineering headache with this simple, yet highly effective feature.

I wonder if the goal is to maximize profits...

My money is on the 2016 LC/LX being offered in the US with exactly one configuration each, and that's fully loaded with features that not everyone wants or needs.
