I said the trail is easy because it is. I drove my bone stock Troopie in there. Stock gears, stock manual steering, stock drum brakes, stock 4spd, stock t-case,......never got stuck, never broke anything. Never had to put it in reverse on the way out.

If the trail was too challenging, then we'll have to find a location accessible by dirt roads. Or just meet at the local pizza joint and bench-race. :flipoff2:

Awesome time!!!
Great trail, great river, great camping area. I vote here again :)

Thanks Georg!

Thanks Georg for another great 45 run, we had a good time and the scenery was great. Better wheeling than deer valley and less mosquito's but, the yellow jackets were crazy at times. Missed having a nice campfire to sit around also.

Thanks also to all the great people we met and hung out with, shared idea's and stories. Can't remember everyone's names (sorry) but it was a really nice event. I also think it's a great spot to return to in the future, hopefully fire bans will be lifted then.

I'll post pics asap

Had a blast and won a Gerber knife to boot! Im probably setting myself up to get laughed at and slammed on this, but did anyone else experience a dark shadowy figure flying through their camp? We experienced this three times this weekend while un-intoxicated. Also the complete absence of birds or squirrels in the campsite - Bizarre

Here are a few pics of the area, more to come.

3 more pics, the river was great. Beautiful place for sure, and it was great being 50-60 ft from rushing water all weekend.

I counted around 5-10 45s, they didn't all camp in the same area and we didn't get the round up shot of them like last year. There was a black one that I forgot to get a photo of camped in the first area.
There was only so much room at the last campsite and others were camping at the other 2 area's back out along the trail.

A few more pics, including one with the 5-6 cows that almost refused to move off the trail. They live in the area and run the trail back and forth.
Lots of cow pies to step in while hiking, or have your dog rub her face in them to show you the great scent she found:D

Robyn being mad was totally my fault. I played the trail down, but she was stoked on the camping spot and had a great time. So much so that she is looking at lift kits and wheel sets and wants to go back once my 40 is on the road again!

Thanks for a great event Georg and to Fast Eddy and Green Fox for helping get us in there on Saturday night.

Great to see everyone again!

i'm stoked that everynbody had a good time and really liked the new location. we might just have to return there next year.......

when i made the decision to go to sourgrass i was almost a little bummed because i was giving up one of our secret and favorite camp sites. then again, i think it was the right choice.

did anybody else notice that there were only two other rigs on the entire trail ( other than our group ) the entire weekend?!

354 days and counting.........anybody want to volunteer for the "raffle chairman" job? setting this event up solo has turned into a little bit of work.

big thanks to toploader, dominic and kevin for the help with hauling crap in.

We had a couple in a Toyota pickup start to follow us in on Sunday, but they turned around at the first rocky stretch. Guess they didn't know where they were going, and we did. :D

Otherwise, yeah, there were just 2 heeps that swung through in the afternoon. The lead guy saw the T-shirts and asked Jake and me if the FJ45 is the truck version of the Land Cruiser (pretty perceptive). We told him there were trucks and wagons, and he seemed intrigued. Maybe there'll be a new convert next year.

Never saw any kind of strangeness while we were there, but I'll offer a possible answer/rebuttal. In a word; "dogs".

The small animals may have stayed away due to the number of canines around. Also, any strange beings should have been noticed by the dogs, and some kind of alarm raised. :hhmm:
