Has anyone diagnosed/done a starter job on a 100 series? I’ve been dreading this job and I want to make sure it’s the right move before I buy more parts. New Battery and New Reman Alt from Toyota.

First thing when the truck is cold, she starts right up. After it reaches running temp and is turned off. I get a no crank no start. I can get it going with a jump.

I was hoping it was just the relay, but the more I dig in, the more I think it could be the starter.

I’m in Fayetteville if you know of any good shops or big brain guys that could help.

There is a security light on the center dash. When you experience the crank no start situation, you need to look at the security light. The light should blink and then disappear when the ignition key is inserted and turned. Does it? If it continues to blink, your problem may be with the immobilizer circuit in the fuse box. There is a work-around for it, but the real fix ($$$$) is a new fuse box. That may or may not be your issue, but it is something that you should be aware of.

Yeah, @Trollhole, I ended up replacing the starter last night. Had a TYC Starter in there with unknown miles. I put in a Toyota Reman. No issues since. Had to re-pin that starter connection but everything went back smoothly! Shes back on the road!

I did have to crack a beer or two to work up the courage to pull the intake!
