I was looking around in the 100 series forum pages and saw a vendor that makes a titanium spine with a replacement plastic shell for the 100 keys. I thought that it would be a cool upgrade to the 200 series remote key fob if they would make a Ti shell replacement for the 200 keys. The vendor said that they would get moving on it if there were 20 or more interested 200 series owners. So what say you, are there 20 (19 counting me) of us that think this is a cool idea?

Doesn't that thing have issues with reception?
Possible. But as the stock key really only has a medium functional range I’d imagine that this would just decrease the range by 30% or so, granted this is a WAG.

I have his YotaMD keys for my 100, he really makes a nice product.

I really have not had an issue with the 200 functionality with the fob. It is ugly and cheap looking...

I would be in for one. My plastic shell was horribly abused by the previous owner. Dog chew marks, color dubbed off from hand oils/lotion, deep scratches from change.

Definitely getting bright colors. Last thing I’d want is a flat dark earth key fob to fall on the ground while camping. That and many moons as an Infantryman made me want as little tacticool looking products as possible.

Great find, thanks for sharing.

I'd be in for a pair as well, the stock FOB is cheapy looking.

Would the blade be concealed like the OEM key, or would it stick out like the ones shown on the website? A nicer looking case would be nice, but with push button start and auto unlock, my key rarely leaves my pocket.

Ohsix has a good question. If this is concealed key blade fob, I am in for one.

The design goal would be to hide the key blade as is current design with factory key.

Here from the 100s section. I’ve been running the titanium/3D printed key for 6 months now with absolutely no noticeable decrease in range. When tested next to a stock key just now, the aftermarket shell stopped working at the same range the stock key did. Both have decently new batteries.

Hello, YotaMD here.

First off, you all are just awesome. It's so cool to see positive feedback on these popping up all over the community.

It looks like there's demand for a quality replacement on the 200 as well so I'll start working on something.

I tested reception and found no difference. That was an early design requirement for me. The brace of Titanium has a gap near the transmitter on the 100 series version to stop the brace from acting like a Faraday cage. I would follow suit for the 200. Range will not be noticeably affected.

Concealed, absolutely. I'd aim to keep it as small as possible and mimic the function of the OEM shell.

Could some of you verify the code on the back of your remote? Is it HYQ14ACX? I'm buying a remote to serve as the design mule and want to make sure I get the correct version in case there are any differences.

Thanks!

Nope
